These are the best crusts I've found so far. They are delicious.

Trader Joe's is starting to tease them, although they sellout almost immediately. For now, it'll have to be online. I think it's only a matter of time before chains like Chipotle start offering riced cauliflower as a choice for "starch".

I'm looking to start Keto. Been reading the details on it for a while this morning and planning it out.

What type of MCT oil do you use or are most types out there good enough (as opposed to some GNC thing)?

I work out 5 days a week. Normally on a well maintained diet of around 1800-2000 cals a daym over past 6 weeks ive been on 2 vacations, and for the whole period ate whatever, and alot of it. Put on 7lbs and dont like the belly fat. Im 5'7 157 right now. Normally around 150. Im not intentionally doing keto, but trying to drop this weight/belly fat asap because i have a lake trip commint up the end of june. For the past 4 days ive been taking in 20-30 carbs daily with those carbs comming from squash, eggplant, and my protein shake. I track everything in my fitness pal. So... question is, am i doing this ketosis thing or is my carbs too high?

Costco unrefined coconut oil is what I use either in recipes or Bulletproof style coffee

You need to get below 5% and no more than 20g of carbs, at least the first week or so to make sure you're fully in ketosis, then after a couple weeks when you're fat adapted if you go over a little as long as you keep your percentages close it won't knock you out of ketosis. After a month or so you'll be able to feel the difference in your body when you're in or not.

Carbs definitely not too high based on what you're saying and the type that your eating. With most of your carbs coming from vegetable I'm guessing they've got some fiber in them as well, so the carb count maybe a little lower than what you're experiencing.

The first week or two can be tough to really get a good feel for whether or not you're doing it correctly. One day you'll just kinda be like "ohhhh...I get it now" just keep doing what you're doing if you want to stay Keto and I think you'll be good.

MCT Oil

I just use Louana Coconut Oil. Seems to work.

Apparently it's the worst possible brand.

Apparently coconut oil is good but MCT oil has higher concentrations of the mct's as well as some additional ones.

Well, I only use the term "keto" lightly. I actually never measure ketones and don't care if I'm actually in ketosis or not. My goal is to be "fat-adjusted", which essentially will be true if I keep my net carbs @ 30g/day or less. Re MCT oil, I just go for straight coconut products - whether it's oil or cream. You can cook with it or eat it straight. I like to get the extra virgin and unprocessed variety. Straight coconut cream is preposterously satisfying.

I use a mix of coconut oil, kerrygold butter, and raw coconut butter (manna) in my BPC. That coconut manna has an INSANE about of fiber.

I made pizza tonight with the pita, mozzarella, pepperoncini, and pepperoni. Broiled it and wow. LOVED IT. Thanks so much Bus.

Thanks for the info.

My primary concern is to cut a chunk of fat (15-20 lbs), and either simultaneously or as next step kick up lifting to a higher level and work in some good cardio/yoga for flexibility.

So I'm interested to hear feedback like yours on ways to implement Keto.

My belief is that if you eat 50% fat, 45% protein, 5% carb to satiety, then you are likely to see that weight melt away - and you should have plenty of energy to do as much exercise as you want. You can shift around the fat/protein ratio per feedback from your body. I also advocate so-called "intermittent fasting" in the form of just not ever eating breakfast.

yeah that's the key, just broil it. I usually toast the pita a little bit before topping it, then putting in center of oven under the broiler. Can't beat it for ease.

What are some of your favorite Keto diet dishes? Per the usual complaint... I'm getting tired of chicken, turkey, and fish.

That stuff is horrible!

I eat a lot of Eggs, steak, and bacon. My cholesterol is at an all time low fwiw.

Typical day for me:

Bullet proof coffee: minus butter plus cinnamon

Bacon and eggs (sometimes cheese)

cut up Boneless skinless chicken breast cooked down with bell peppers in butter/olive oil or grilled chicken/shrimp salad with Italian

fish or steak with greens (steak once or twice a week)
