I’ve always done this. Also generally good cardio, and I eat very well thanks to a great wife that cooks healthily. I have no idea why it’s so low now.

What would be a good starting point for me at my levels?

Does subcutaneous need to be specified in the prescription?
As long as you are getting Testosterone Cypionate, I don't think it matters. You can inject that IM or SubQ.

Is there a “standard” injection type?
From my research, historically everything was IntraMuscular but SubQ has become very popular recently.

Also where are you getting yours and what are your dosages?
My total T was too high to get a prescription from my primary care doc so I went the Maximus Tribe route. They will prescribe for people in the "normal" T range whereas my primary care and insurance will not. Likely no benefit going this route since you qualify as having low T

correct. not just test cypionate though, any of the esters work. Oil based was developed for IM injections but can be used by most Subq. there is a chance you start developing polyps where the oil doesnt absorb very well and starts causing a red reaction and bump and possibly some bruising. Some people get them, some dont. For many it happens with injections that are more volume so keep volume very low and freq high

I get these now but didnt for years and used subq. I dont always get them either. Most dont.

correct, started with some studies showing subq gave better results. you can google t-nation and subq injections to read more

Thoughts on this, fellas?

He’s saying free T that is tested isn’t all accurate and the manual calculation using SHBG & Albumin are more accurate. I did the calculation and there was a 10 point difference in mine, which is huge considering it’s Free T

Roger that

Had a full panel resulted yesterday and all markers improved, I was stoked. Lipid panel, H/H, liver enzymes. All perfect. Drew a b12 and VitD for shits and giggles. B12 was upper range of normal and VD was lower end of normal so I’ll be getting back on the 5000iu/day

How long do those things last or are they permanent unless removed?

I just got my first prescription of testosterone cypionate. One 1ml of 200mg/ml vial. Prescription is for 0.5 ml every 3 wks, and one refill. One vial cost me $28. I’m ready to get started.

Some questions:

1. Why would there only be one refill between now and July?

2. How does anyone get prescribed for ongoing TRT past this initial period? Is it a matter of the doctor choosing to continue to prescribe?

3. I use a local pharmacy, not a “big box” one like CVS or Walgreens. Would they honor the goodrx coupons?

4. Does anyone order directly through goodrx, and how do you do that with a prescription?

Where did you get prescribed? That all sounds ridiculous to me. You don't take Test C once every 3 weeks, doesn't matter the dose. I would not follow that protocol at all. I think it sounds like you need to find a new provider.

0.5mL once every 3 weeks? That’s a low amount. Almost negligible over a 3 week period. Must be setting a building baseline. IDK.

Most with your levels are started out at 200mg every 2 weeks to see where they fall. Then generally upped to 200mg total per week after a month or so. Follow your docs orders though, not me. Or find a new one.

I started with level at 450. Got pellets twice. Really enjoyed it months 2&3. Fall off sucked. Now I just gray market, inject 125mg every 5-7 days.

No. just no. That’s literally chemical castration.

You need to fire that provide from messing your hormones asap and let him stick to ordering Z packs.

A respectable starting dose will be anywhere from 120-200mg/wk split into 2 doses for 90% of people fyi. This cat has you injecting 100mg every 3 weeks. That’s just an abomination and frustrating how clueless some of these providers are when it comes to HRT.

Am I supposed to ask the doc to prescribe more? I’m going to set up an appt to see what the exact plan is and go from there.

Also, what’s the “gray market” referring to?

That’s your choice but your provider seems so far off track, it’ll likely be a waste of time.

You have a few options

1. TRT clinic who specializes in this stuff and can guide you properly.

2. Urologist who hopefully is willing to prescribe and properly manage TRT

3. Do LOTS of homework and enter the gray market realm. This is the cheapest option by far but you’re not there yet.
