Besides steroids and physical therapy, what else can I do to get walking again?
Tore the calf last Wednesday, went to the doctor Thursday, got steroids, started PT today. Stretches, dry needling, etc.

You tore the muscle belly?

Not sure if tearing it is the same as rupturing it but I ruptured my right calve about 5 weeks ago. Had a light weight, high rep leg day and then went home and was messing around with my son. Took off running and after about 5 steps I heard a loud pop, like a big rubber band popping. Then realized I couldn’t put weight on my leg. I iced it several times a day and got an ace bandage to wrap it when I wasn’t icing it. After about a week I could walk on my tip toes without pain, if I put my foot flat it felt like my muscle was going to come out of my leg. Then another week or so later I could walk flat footed with the ace bandage on. Eventually I got to where all I needed was a compression sleeve for my calve to keep everything tight. I’m probably about 75% healed now. Still use the compression sleeve when I do leg days and don’t push very hard. I didn’t do leg work for the first month after the injury. I can finally flex the calve muscle again now but I have a nice dent in the muscle where it ruptured.

I got bit by a cane corso in my calf shortly before thanksgiving. It was a dog training accident doing protection work so it was my fault, but he filleted by calf open pretty good. I took this peptide and really did feel like it helped speed up recovery.

Rupture would be like a window shade flapping up.
Tear is a better scenario.

It’s a slight tear, still hurts to try to walk. It won’t require surgery but I’d like to speed up recovery. Ice? Compression sock? Heat? Any ideas?

I’m a patient with defy medical on HRT program so my doc prescribed it.
