My shoulders hurt and pop a lot. Anyone else have this, and if so, how did you help it?

Is it from a lack of a particular exercise, posture problems, or something else?

Just some background: I am young, 24, not overweight, no physical contact injuries, and not overuse on any jobs. It's a mystery to me. All I have been told by my friend who is a PT is that they appear to be "unstable."

Popping is normal and will go away as you warm them up. Just do some shoulder dislocates (type of warm up) with a band or broomstick and some around the world's.

You just need to strengthen your shoulders, chest, and upper back

Painless popping is a normal part of the aging process as the shoulder is a very complex joint with a lot of moving parts. If it is painful or "unstable" I would seek medical attention.

I'm 60 yrs old and starting to have shoulder pain. Have had to cut back on weights. Don't want to take pain meds. Thinking about accupunture but don't know if it will help.

do the warmup in this LINK

like hfp said concentrate on getting better at the dislocates and the overhead pulldowns and progress on them as you would any other exercise.
