I notice that a good multivitamin has most of everything that is recommended to take.
So why not just take a multivitamin? I am also taking Vitamin D3 ), magnesium, and cod oil.

I don’t know. You tell me.

Because multivitamins likely have no value.

Can you explain? I realize getting vitamins from food is always the best option. But if you are using vitamins to supplement your diet, is it better to stay away from the multis?

I'm making the switch to a fruit/veg blend and not Balance of Nature. That shite is way overpriced and they have other more cost friendly options. I feel like the multi I take is pretty worthless and I want to give the natural option a try.
I'll still supplement with some specifics, but retiring the basic multi.

If you’re not taking a multivitamin then you’re assuming you’re getting your daily vitamins and minerals from your diet, which most people aren’t

a big problem i have with multis (i still take one anyway) is that some of the vitamins are fat soluble, some are water soluble, and some are going to compete for absorption.
if you have specific dietary needs, i would recommend taking that vitamin assortment at a time that it is absorbed the best. example, i take my VIt D when i eat eggs because it absorbs better with fats.
