And if so what do you do diet/supplement wise?

That's what I think myself every time that I see it. Here's more about it -- your body can't process folate/folic acid (I'm still trying to understand it myself) and homocysteine levels rise which can cause heart issues, and all kinds of other things.

Just wondering how others deal with it food/supplement wise.

I'm watching Season 3 of Last Chance U and I think coach Jason Brown has that gene mutation.

Don't take medicine. Just eat more red meat and egg yolks.

I have the less severe heterozygous version. I stopped taking folic acid supplements & switched to a vitamin with a bio-available form of folate that doesn’t need to be converted.

I don’t think there’s much else to do.

I take B-Right by Jarrow and have "tried" to cut down on things enriched with B-vitamins .. rice, bread, crackers, etc. It's SO hard.

It really is hard. I was better about checking labels on fortified foods when I first found out, but I’ve gotten lazy.

I figure if I at least "cut back" I'll be better off than doing nothing.
