Do any of you add in any sort of periodic pampering like deep tissue massages to your overall health/wellness routine?

I've been telling myself I'm going to do it for a while and I keep putting it off because I get too busy with worok.

I have plenty of time now and I think I might add it to the routine as part of a "reward" incentive for reaching certain fitness milestones.

How about you?

Love deep tissue massage. I probably need to do one soon. Really helps with tightness.

I've been wanting to try out the cryotherapy place in Perkins Rowe. Deep tissue massage is the best overall health/wellness thing I've experienced though.

I like the idea of it, but both times I’ve had a massage I get a major headache later that afternoon or the next day. Like hangover headache. Not worth it.

You need to really hydrate before getting a massage.

Don't drink alcohol the day before a massage for sure. As the previous poster said, hydration is also key.

Didn't know this

I set up an appointment for next Thursday night. Might plan that as my rest day next week.

I've heard various things about why it dehydrates you and most sounds like bro-science...but it does. Bad.

I have gotten massages for years. Not as much for my body as much as my mind. It was one of the few places that I could go to get away from work for an hour and just relax. I would totally sleep through tough deep tissue massages.

Every 6 months or so I splurge and do a full body hot stone massage. It’s awkward at first but now I’m comfortable with them and it’s something I look forward too.
