Losing weight and getting off the CPAP!

I have lost enough weight and am at the weight I was before I needed the CPAP. Has anyone lost weight and were able to stop using your CPAP? Were you able to sleep without the CPAP like the weight gain never happened? Or did you get used to the CPAP and can't go back?

I don't know about a CPAP, but I know my snoring went away after I lost 40 pounds. It probably depends on why you're on CPAP, but most likely you'll breathe much easier especially if you're carrying a LOT more than you should in weight.
The worst part of weight loss is probably the first week of suffering. After that you see results and it should encourage you to continue. You'll be surprised how good you feel as well.

My Dr said my snoring had nothing to do with my weight. Last year I trained for 2 different very difficult hikes and lost about 20 lbs. I still need the cpap.

I’m in the best shape of my life, but I still use mine. Supposedly depends on the severity of the OSA. Mild cases can go away with weight loss while more severe cases will get better, but CPAP is still needed.
Weight Loss & Sleep Apnea

Consider that the CPAP allowed you to get the rest you needed to help you lose the weight. If the Sleep Apnea was the underlying cause then getting off could start the cycle over again. Just a thought...

I lost 60lbs and just quit using CPAP. I don't feel any different. Anybody know a way to self diagnose. I wear a Whoop and it typically says 1-2 wake events per hour but I don't know about the accuracy.
