Legs burning at the beginning of my walking workout.

Sometimes at the start of my workout, when I get on the treadmill, elliptical, stairmaster, etc. my legs start burning and feel like they are already fatigued.
This could happen after a two day rest.
What up with that?
Not getting enough calories?

Peripheral vascular disease.?Might be worth seeing CV surgeon or Cardiologist.

Could be calories and not recovering enough, but its no different than working other muscles.
Sometimes it just takes a little while to get warmed up. It would be like hitting your first set and it feeling terrible, but set 2, 3, and 4 feel great..
You said it happens sometimes, so if it was me I would just chalk it up to extra fatigue and see how I feel as I go along.

Any disc issues in lower back?
My L5-S1 herniation made my asscheeks down go numb and burn.

I have a slight back issue and some sciatica, but stretching seems to correct it. I don't recall any pain when the burning happens. But you could be on to something.

This is a possibility. And I hope this is all it is.

Yep. If it happened more often I would be more concerned.
The first time it really bothered me was a few years back when I just starting hiking down the Tanner Trail in the Grand Canyon. My legs felt crappy right off. About an hour later my legs were weak and I actually fell off the trail and tumbled butt-over-head about one and a half times until coming to a rest between two large rocks. I was uninjured so we keep going. I did the rest of the 6 day hike without issue.

It’s absolutely a symptom of sciatica. Stretching helped me too but only so much. Talk to a ortho doc.
I got minimally invasive surgery and haven’t had sciatica since. But sometimes a round of epidurals/nerve blockers can suffice depending on the person.

Lactic acid build up?
I could treat my legs better after a hard workout, so this could be an issue. Probably start putting my legs up and icing my knees after the longer workouts.

Thanks. I will be paying more attention to this.

Up your protein intake as a low hanging fruit test.
