L-Arginine Is it worth it?

Buddy of mine is taking this and said it works for him. Said he gets a better pump in the gym.

What’s yall thoughts on this?

I've never taken it by itself. Seems like one of those supplements that is best taken as a companion with other supplements. I base that off nothing more than thinking it's funny to buy a bottle of capsules filled with the powder of only one amino acid. I do it with L-thyronine and L-theanine, and every time I buy them and every week I re-load my pill organizer I say to myself "Why can't this come pre-combined together, dammit?" And sometimes it does, but I don't buy that kind for reasons I'll not go in to now.

I have read that L-Citruline is the precursor to L-Arginine and ultimately it gives your body the ability to produce more NO than Arginine itself.

I took it and got my first fever blister in 20 years. After some research, I found it can cause them. I still with Citrulline
