Is the YMCA at Perkins/Siegen decent?
Haven't burnt a lunch to check it out yet. I haven't lifted since March and am looking to get back in to it. The close proximity to work is attractive, could lift at lunch.

I prefer free weights. Being able to squat/deadlift is a must.

Yes it’s great - was a member there for years.

It’s good but the weight area is quite a bit smaller after the renovation.

Oh that’s a shame - I went to classes, used the cardio equipment, and swam mostly

I used to bring my younger teens with me so we didn’t use the free weights

We’re about to join the one at Government and Foster... the AC Lewis branch.
Nice weight rooms, lots of cardio equipment, child care, indoor and outdoor pools, big locker room with showers, full size basketball gym, etc.

Yeah. I think the idea is to have more space for the classes so they can be socially distanced, but it’s kind of disappointing. They are going to have a multipurpose room with kettlebells, battle ropes, etc though.

yeah I think most traditional gyms now are trying to combat the orange theories and cross fit places now

I was thinking about switching from spectrum to that Y because its a quicker drive...but idk

Went yesterday. First time lifting since pandemic started, was happy as a dog with two dinks to be in there. The equipment is good and there wasn't much of a crowd at lunch. Was able to get a decent workout in around 45 minutes.
