Anybody doing this? I’m doing the 16:8 plan. Avoiding booze also. Nine days in, have lost 5 pounds. I had some king cake yesterday.
Hoping the wife will want to have sex with me again soon.

It works. Stick with with it. It’s more that the restricted window limits how many calories you’ll realistically take in, but that helps many people as they start with nutrition.

I do the 1 meal a day four days a week and 16-8 on two others with no fasting on Sunday. It really does work. Been doing it for 6 months and people at work say I look like a different person

This was really hard for me to do.
I generally do a protein shake at 1-2 and dinner before 8PM. But, I'm also struggling to lose these last 10 pounds.....

You gotta pump iron in the day if you want to pump the woman at night.

If you drank a decent amount, this will really help you knock off the pounds. Don't be discouraged when you don't have the same significant weight drop after week 1-2. You probably lost mostly water weight.

I've lost about 25 pounds since September doing IF pretty much every day along with eliminating weekday alcohol consumption. Most days I only eat dinner. Sometimes a snack throughout the day. I think the biggest thing was the alcohol though. Having a few drinks at night, especially heavy craft beers can add 600ish empty calories a day.

No doubt. I dropped over 30 lbs from Jan-June last year. I completely overhauled my diet and cut out the beer pretty much all together. When I would drink it was bourbon and water. Then football season came and my diet slipped some, but the beer started flowing again. I put 10 of those lbs right back on.

IF can be great. All of these things are just strategies to eat at a calorie deficit.

Correct, as far as weight loss only is concerned, fasting isn't a must but it can be helpful. If you scarf down 3,000 calories I. A 4-8 hour window, you aren't going to lose weight. If you eat fairly well during that window, it will result in weight loss. The better you eat, the more weight you can lose.
Fasting has other benefits, which aren't necessarily weight loss related. I try to do 16:8 at least 5-6 days a week, and one 24 hour fast per week.

For sure. I did 16/8 for 6 months in 2019. I only stopped because now that I'm at the bf percentage I want im working in maintenance strategies that aren't as disruptive socially.
