How to Keep Sodium Intake to a Minimum

Americans eat on average about 3,400 mg of sodium per day. However, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends adults limit sodium intake to less than 2,300 mg per day—that's equal to about 1 teaspoon of table salt
So, how do you keep your sodium intake to the recommended 2300mg a day, and also have your food taste good?
I've been doing the frozen Heathy Choice meals, and a few other brands, which I know are not the best option, but they are typically low calorie, and somewhat filling. My current living situation makes it difficult to meal prep like I used to, so this is the option I'm currently going with until my situation changes. I've found a handful of different ones that I like, but I always add Slap Ya Mama to them, which obviously increases the sodium, which is already usually 400-700mg per meal.
That made me start questioning how much sodium was I taking in when making my own meals. I never watched my sodium intake, and I have never had any issues with my sodium intake causing problems like high blood pressure, etc. But recently, after a conversation with a coworker who deals with high blood pressure, I've started paying more attention to the amount in the premade meals I've been eating during the week.
I can eat almost any meat and any veggie if I cook it myself. I never use canned veggies, always fresh or frozen, and then season them myself. But the issue lies with me seasoning them myself, as I enjoy well seasoned foods, and as I'm sure you know if you cook your own food, salt is what brings out the flavors of the other seasonings.
So when meal prepping, how do you keep the amount of sodium low while still making your healthy meats and veggies flavorful? Obviously, this question is directed to the other coonasses on the board like myself, and not those that are so mentally strong, and hardcore enough to eat plain white rice and boiled chicken breast with no added seasoning for their meals.

I don't, because it's pointless. Drink enough water and dietary sodium will have essentially no effect on your health.

During the week I average about 150oz of water a day. On the weekends, that average probably drops to about 110-120oz a day.
By doing this, is it more or less, flushing your system of the dietary sodium?

Ignore the USDA guidelines about sodium. They are pretty much wrong about everything, such as the food pyramid, and are also wrong about sodium.
Now I am not saying eat 12,000mg of sodium per day, but there are plenty of studies out there saying that higher sodium intake is good. Especially if you drink lots of water.
These videos accurately portray the reality of sodium intake:

I didnt read all that but will state what i did.
I cut out all sodas and i use light salt mixture that cuts the sodium in half. Morton has a light salt mixture, im sure other brands do too.

Unless you have hypertension, don't worry too much about sodium intake as long as you're eating reasonably healthfully. Drink water.
Sodium is actually really important for performance in the gym. If you work out you want to take in more sodium than that imo.

Here's a simple rule: salt the stuff you eat to the taste you like and never think about it again.
Same advice on water: drink when you're thirsty - that's all you need.

I’m echoing what a lot of posters are saying: main stream health has gotten so much stuff fricking wrong, and of course they got sodium wrong too. You need sodium and unless you have really bad hypertension, don’t worry about your sodium consumption. If anything, make sure you’re getting enough especially if you exercise and sweat often

That and get outside and walk, run, cycle. You'll end up needing to supplement with additional sodium.

You can still season your food but without salt based seasonings. The key is getting quality seasonings so that the flavor isn't lacking. The ones I use the most are paprika, garlic, shallot, chili powder, pepper (I prefer white), curry powder, rosemary, etc.
We also make our own spice blends (particularly for smoking meat) at home so we can control how much salt is in it.
We pretty much swapped our seasonings out for Penzey's seasonings and they have a huge salt-free selection:
Salt-Free Penzeys Spices
I also use low sodium or unsalted chicken stock/broth for a lot of things to add flavor. I generally get the Pacific brand low sodium stock.
ETA: You don't want to get way below that 1500 mg limit or you'll create health issues of their own due to lack of sodium. So you do still need some sodium.

Use Mrs. DASH. Be careful of No-Salt or light salt. Many of those products use KCl potassium chloride which will raise your potassium levels. That isnt healthy at all having elevated potassium levels, worse than elevated Na sodium.

There are a few that are actually pretty low in sodium. I usually keep a couple in the freezer just in case I need something quick. The ravioli one is quite good. Usually make a little salad with it

One simple way: avoid eating out and zero fast food.
