How obsolete is the Arnold Encyclopedia today?

It's not obsolete at all. It's a great reference book. I wouldn't suggest doing the splits he lists but there's tons of good information in there.

It's not for bodybuilding, but his routines in the book are not for the mortals, they are due enhanced lifters who lift for a living and have amazing genetics.

I don't know if I agree with that first part. It's definitely for bodybuilding. As for the routines, his "Level 1 Basic Training" split is do-able for the average, natural lifter. I did it in my early 20's and it worked great. That being said, all his other splits are insane.

No, sorry lack of commas made that confusing. I was saying saying its not obsolete for bodybuilding. And yea he has 1 or 2 basic splits that are ok, rest are crazy.
Arnold responded to crazy amounts of volume. But he didn't not build his base using any of those routines. The routines in education of a bodybuilder are much better.
The modern encyclopedia is still best S&C book I have ever read though, just from a history perspective.
