What the others have said is spot on! I've gone from 231 lbs to 166 in six months. 6 foot tall. 14.5% body fat. Strict meal plan with very controlled macros and NO cheats. It has sucked. Resistance training, HIIT. Abs looking ok but everyone thinks I'm sick, especially slimming in the facial area. Jeff Cavaliere's YouTube videos are an excellent guide to core exercises and ab training. Good luck!

Do weighted core exercises in addition to the standard body weight exercises.

Maybe work a 24 hour fast, per week into your schedule.

Completing a 24 hour fast does wonders for the mind. Once you understand that you have the ability to go that long without food going 16 or 18 hours is nothing. I've likened it to running. After I ran a 5k for the first time every time I ran I couldn't run less than 3.1 miles.

Can you expand a little on what you’ve been doing, what works/doesn’t work for you. I’m looking to drop significant weight like yourself. Cheers!

Abs are coming back baby!

Down to 145.

Rest of my body is getting shredded too. I have veins popping all over. Looks pretty cool. My goal is 142 before I go beast-mode gainz city.
I’ve kept a lot of the muscle I had initially built during this cut.

Started at 183. (All fat in gut and neck. Chicken arms and chicken legs)
Got down to 165 while building a lot of muscle.
Stomach just wouldn’t go away so I’ve been 100% cutting for about 2.5 months.

Best thing I got, was believe it or not, a heart monitor from Amazon. Looks like an Apple Watch. $35 or so. Helps me target my intensity for workouts or cardio. Keeps track of calories burned, steps and I can start “workout” or “run/walk” mode.

As most have said the thing that worked was diet. 1,000-1,500 calories a day and not eating past 7:00. Next meal is at lunch. Protein shakes throughout the day starting in the morning. That with tons of hypertrophy workouts, some cardio, and ab exercises (chair leg lifts [form is key], decline sit-ups, scissor kicks)

If you are happy now, why potentially ruin it by attempting to gain? Are you sure you are a good gainer?

Even so, I’d hang in the zone you’re in for a bit and let your body get used to it. Then only add weight gradually. Otherwise, I suspect your body is going to gather that spare tire all over again.

He's partially correct. At 5'10 and 157lbs, you likely just don't have enough muscle for it to be pronounced

This is the correct answer

Thanks!

I’ve been taking information from here, trainer, videos, gym friends and putting it all in a blender and finding the recipe that works for me.
