Mackenzie Therapies!!!!
Google it yourself and see what movements are feasible for you. It is easier for neck injuries, but there are lumbar movements as well.
You want to lengthen the spine to create spaceso the disc can return to where it belongs. Any movement that you do or are going to do.... If it makes the pain worse and shoot out, STOP IT! Any movement that reduces or "centralizes" the pain (big term with this therapy) you go with that movement.
Good luck.

Had Sx 23 years ago for herniated disc in L5 S1 area. I’m 49 now. Dont play much golf anymore but can pretty much do anything I want. Took a good 10 years for me to get to the point that I didn't have to worry about aggravating it. Although I do find now that certain weather systems bother it for a day or 2.
Lie flat on ground, put calves on sofa so that thighs are perpendicular to ground. This flattens/relaxes the lower back. Lose weight if you need to and strengthen your core. Learn proper mechanics for lifting, sitting, getting out of bed, etc.

Surgery is the only thing that finally gave me relief. I put it off for 5 or 6 years though.
wish I could tell you better news, but the recovery was a breeze. So there's that.

I have something similar. Been going on two years. I had X-rays that were negative, but something isn’t right. I also know I pulled some muscles in my lower back and hip. Muscle relaxers help.

Acupuncture. You can buy an electronic version. Love it. Might not be all you need but everyone should have one.
They are called tens units but not like the kind a tens unit would make u think.
