You should be a little more humble.

FYI 1 oz of Salmon (which is considered a fatty fish) contains 5.2g of protein to .2g of Fat.... yea that's not a 1:1 ratio that you're referencing.

This is WAY OFF, bud.

Many cheeses have as much protein as fat, but of course you chose to use cheddar as your example. Mozzarella has considerably more protein than fat (in grams).

And I'm pretty sure an average dude doesn't need 200 grams of protein a day like you posted earlier, unless he's trying to make them gainz.

Why are you lashing out? You're unable to explain your thoughts adequately. Don't get mad. Step back, and reassess.

The longevity and excellent health status of the population of Crete has been attributed to its lifestyle and dietary habits. Yet, the impact of Greek Orthodox Christian Church fasting on these dietary habits has never been studied.

Just not sure where you are getting your info. Raw Atlantic salmon has about a 2:1 ratio of protein to fat (and not the ludicrous 25:1 that you have stated here. Depending on the variety, it probably varies from 2:1 to 4:1.

Who the frick would eat that much cheese? 3 slices of packaged cheddar cheese is 15 grams of protein. I'd say that's pretty legit and that's a moderate amount of fat.

Since this thread started I have been reading up on this issue. I have been reading through Keys and other source work trying to wrap my head around it. From the looks of it, Keys went in trying to grab ~650 diet logs from Crete and Corfu. So ~325 on each island. This was his design of the Seven Countries Study that started the Mediterranean Diet. His actual results that he published - just 33 people from Crete alone (I forget the number off hand for Corfu). He took the data gathered on Crete from the ~300 individual's diet logs and threw it out to leave just 33, and I don't remember why.

It was about 30 on Corfu. Literally, the "7 countries study) covers about 60 men on 2 islands...during Lent AND still mired in post-war austerity. A lot of the food samples were simply destroyed (oh yes, they weren't there in person doing the tracking. Rather, they were putting foodstuffs in urns and shipping them off-continent for analysis. Can't even be marginally referred to as "science."

Well, to be fair, 1 of the three cohorts was during lent... . Though the caloric values didn't change much because of lent - the N of 30 was terribly low.
