I have been having bad stomach pain and acid reflux for about a month. I was diagnosed with gastritis and stomach inflammation cause by h. pylori bacteria.

I have been able to lift but not eat like I need to. Have lost about 8lbs.

Anyone here suffer from this?

I’ve dealt with it in the past. Did they give you medication to knock out the H.Pylori infection? It took me a few weeks of some low residue/mild eating for it to clear up.

You may also consider taking a probiotic in the future to help maintain that gut bacteria balance. I’ve taken Florastor on and off for a few years (especially when I’m on an antibiotic) and it’s helped tremendously. Its a little pricey but it’s also commonly prescribed for treating C.diff and has a pretty good success rate.

I’ve noticed lately after I eat a spasm-like sensation underneath the left side of my lower rib cage. It comes and goes. Really odd.

I'm not going to go all "alternative medicine" on you, but there are ways to get your gut flora and inflammation in check naturally.

If you're not already taking a Probiotic I would definitely start - you want one with at least 3 Probiotic strains, but the more the better...this is the best one I've found for the cost - it has 10 Probiotic strains and over 20 billion live cultures.

Puritan's Pride - Probiotic 10

I'd also look into taking digestive enzymes - again, you will see better results with more enzymes present. I've been taking both an my stomach issues are much better since I have. I can tell a major difference when I skip my digestive enzymes with meals as well.

My stomach has been messed up since before gallbladder surgery in January of 2016. I was diagnosed with "moderately severe" (seems like a contradiction) erosive gastritis by a local GI and prescribed 40mg of Omeprazole.

I feel like I had a lot of things going on (still do) that I can't really pinpoint exactly what has lead to what, but it's mainly a lot of bloating, cramping, and slight nausea.

I felt better and stopped taking the Omeprazole around April of 2016 (because I never really had heartburn). I was prescribed Cholestipol for Bile Acid Malapsorption (tmi?) after gallbladder removal. It seemed like after I took two doses of that a day for about 3 months, my stomach started messing up again, and I would blow up like a hot air balloon after a tiny meal.

I started back on the 40MG of Omeprazole, but my reflux worsened (constant burping, burning mouth/throat/stomach). The Omeprazole helped a bit, but it was no cure.

I've tried Nexium, Prilosec, and Protonix, and neither work really any better than the other, but I did visit another GI specialist out of town back in May who said he only saw patches of inflammation on endoscopy and nothing erosive, but my stomach probably bothers me more now than it ever did back in 2016.

Now I do have reflux where I didn't before. It's not classical heartburn like after I eat a big cheeseburger or anything, but really it's always there. I always feel a pressure in my chest, especially if I go a long time without eating that feels like I have to burp or have something come up even though it doesn't always. I get a sour taste in my mouth and a burning chest/tongue especially if I go too long without eating

I have tried digestive enzymes and probiotics for like a month but they felt like placebos to me although I may just not have ever been on them long enough.

Could be related to the gastritis, but I don't really know. I never had H.Pylori, so it's a mystery what keeps irritating my stomach. I do take Excedrin from time to time but never over the recommended dose. I was probably taking two pills about 2-4 times a week, but now I take maybe two a week or less.

The only thing I can think of is excess bile from not having a GB backing up and causing irritation in the stomach which leads to increased bloating/pressure which leads to reflux.
