Five Day Fasting Brag
I did 3 days of water fasting (salt water. aka Snake Juice).
Today I'm on day 2 of a dry fast. No water.

I will end the fast tomorrow at noon. Day 6 and 7 I eat low carb or no carb.

Then repeat. Until the end of the month.

At this point I'm down 14 lbs since Sunday. Today is Thursday. I feeling surprisingly good. I'm starting to feel a little hungry and a little thirsty, but that is largely due to knowing (anticipating) that I will eat and drink again tomorrow.

I'm doing this to lose as much weight as I can before starting a more strenuous walking and workout routine. I'm just too damn heavy to do any distance walking at this time.

Water fasting is awesome and snake juice helps a lot. I recommend against dry fasting. Too easy to overdo it and pass out.

re: Five Day Fasting Brag
I woke up this morning 16 lbs down since Sunday. This is nuts. I realize I will gain back some weight after eating and drinking water, but is about a month long journey. So I'm more interested in where I'll be at the end of the month.

I walked a mile (a very slow mile) on both dry fasting days and I felt fine. But I agree you can overdo it. However this isn't my first time water fasting or dry fasting. I believe the key is to drink enough snake juice (electrolytes) to get you thru the dry fast.

Why? Because it's the quickest path the health for those overweight and is safe and healthy to do.

Hard?? Yes.

Extreme?? Not really in the grand scheme

True story: If you're fat you really don't need to eat.

I get that but you eventually will eat and go back to those old habits that got you fat in the first place. Wouldn’t it be wiser to just develop a healthier lifestyle with making good food choices and moderate exercise??

Fasting actually leads to other beneficial metabolic changes. I wouldn't ever go more than 3 days, but I don't need to lose weight. I try to do some intermittent fasting (.i.e running 9-12 miles on a 16-hour fast) at least a couple of times per week for health and performance reasons.

That depends. Lots of studies show the faster the weight loss In the first 3 months the more likely you are to keep it off. Those are observation studies though so keep that in mind.

Just have to understand how to do it and use the fasting as a jump start only.

I agree. Before doing a fast you should follow a healthy meal plan for a couple of weeks. I did a low carb two meals a day intermittent "fast". Then do the real fast. After that return same meal plan.

Just finished a five day water fast today. I already live an OMAD lifestyle. I find prolonged fasting more a mental exercise than a weight or physical one.
