Cant help you with Baton Rouge since I'm in Houston but I just dealt with it.

I'm only 35 but it started years ago , which was rare, and I had a very bad case just in my right pinky finger.

I went to a normal hand specialist who did a Xiaflex shot and manually broke the cord 2 days later.

It was worth every penny and I didnt realize how it impacted my quality of life. Sometimes , touching it or grabbing my steering wheel wrong would legit hurt so bad I'd see stars.

My wife was there and said the popping sound was disgusting and he really had to crank down to break it ..I didnt watch.

Dr. Alan Schroeder at the Bone and Joint Clinic did my surgery when I broke my wrist and I really liked him. But, I have heard that Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Robichaux at the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic are two of the best hand surgeons in Baton Rouge.

Get radiation instead of surgery. They do this in Germany all the time. Should be 70%+ response rate if never before treated. If it doesn’t work then get surgery.

From my understanding--> Commonly called Viking's disease because there is a genetic predisposition if your ancestors are from the Nordics.

You dont break down collagen and it turns into hard fibrous cords in your hand.

Supposed to start around 55+ and commonly gets confused with arthritis so they dont get it fixed.

Funny story, I was like 29 and fed up with it while eating lunch at a rural Mexican restaurant after a customer visit. I put my finger on the table , cranked down as hard as I could , popped my cord and they thought someone shot a .22 off in the bathroom. Hurt so bad, I got dizzy and hit my head on the windowsill. Finger stayed straight for like 3 years and it was free vs 1,800 out of pocket I just paid hahah.
