My allergy doctor wants me to avoid all corn and peanut for 3 weeks. Corn and peanut is in everything. So should I stick with meat/fish, veggies, fruits, eggs and beans? Anyone have any tips on avoiding corn/peanut? Man I'm gonna miss chips and salsa and tacos.

Yes, my niece has a terrible nut allergy. She can't even have something if the next door factory has nuts. It sucks.

Basically, if it comes in a box or a bag, don't eat it.
Say goodbye to most booze as well.

Make your own salsa and don't eat corn chips. For tortillas, make cheese tortillas or buy them at Rouse's.
The good news is, you are going to feel great eating that clean. You may not want to go back.

Not really
Outside of peanut butter (which could easily be switched for a nut butter) I don't eat either of those products often.

You should always stick with this

Eat almond butter instead of peanut butter. If you want chips and salsa, buy Siete brand. You will have to be diligent about reading labels but this is far from restrictive if you know where to look and what substitutes to eat. Good luck!

At least you won't stare at your poop now wondering when was the last time you ate corn or peanuts.

That was what I thought, he's gonna have way less chunky poop.
Yeah, I'd just stick to unprocessed stuff for 3 weeks. It's short enough you can hang on, and it will keep you safe.

So nothing fried in peanut oil? Vegetable oil? Ketchup has high fructose corn syrup, bbq sauce, etc. Had a P3 snack pack today. The turkey had modified cornstarch, the cheese had cornstarch, and the almonds were processed in a facility with peanuts.

Luckily you can get ketchup without corn syrup.
Dude was given a gift whether he sees it or not at the moment. This type of clean eating will do wonders.

Check out thrive online, Whole Foods, Sprouts, or Trader Joe’s. You will be able to find substitutes of all of those products without added high fructose corn syrup or sugar. I just bought Primal Kitchen, no sugar added ketchup this week. The products are out there, you just have to look carefully.

It's very easy. Unless you're eating whole corn or peanuts / peanut butter w just salt, then you really shouldn't be eating it regardless of allergies, so double whammy.

That’s not too bad. When I did an elimination diet a few years back for allergy testing purposes, the hardest thing to give up was soy. That shite really is in everything.

So are poorly processed oils, under names you'd never suspect.

here is a partial list of other names for palm oil-derived ingredients:*
PKO – Palm Kernel Oil
PKO fractionations: Palm Kernel Stearin (PKs); Palm Kernel Olein (PKOo)
PHPKO – Partially hydrogenated Palm Oil
FP(K)O – Fractionated Palm Oil
OPKO – Organic Palm Kernel Oil
Palmitate – Vitamin A or Asorbyl Palmitate (NOTE: Vitamin A Palmitate is a very common ingredient in breakfast cereals and we have confirmed 100% of the samples we’ve investigated to be derived from palm oil)
Palmate
Sodium Laureth Sulphate (Can also be from coconut)
Sodium Lauryl Sulphates (can also be from ricinus oil)
Sodium dodecyl Sulphate (SDS or NaDS)
Elaeis Guineensis
Glyceryl Stearate
Stearic Acid
Chemicals which contain palm oil
Steareth -2
Steareth -20
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (coconut and/or palm)
Hydrated palm glycerides
Sodium isostearoyl lactylaye (derived from vegetable stearic acid)
Cetyl palmitate and octyl palmitate (names with palmitate at the end are usually derived from palm oil, but as in the case of Vitamin A Palmitate, very rarely a company will use a different vegetable oil)

I use Veggie Oil to season my griddle outside because it's cheap and I burn it off. I only cook with olive oil. I make 90% of my meals at home, and honestly don't worry about the other 10%, but would if I was on this diet for a period of time
True Made Foods makes a great ketchup that is almost all veggies (they also have a non added sugar version which takes out the minimal cane sugar)

Haven't tried their other products but I would give a huge seal of approval on the ketchup.

Black bean chips > corn chips. Switch to almond or cashew butter (goat imo). Any organic ketchup will have real sugar vs HFCS. That shite is poison anyways. Only two oils I use are olive oil for low or no heat and avacado oil for high heat. Kerrygold butter is also good to cook with it.
I honestly think you will be surprised how easy it is to avoid these two foods

We have the same philosophy on oils and cooking. Although, I do want to point out that sugar is 50-50 glucose to fructose while HFCS is 45-55. Both are best avoided and there are some condiment brands that do this, such as Primal Kitchen. You might have already known this, but it doesn’t hurt to point it out!
