Going to see a physical therapist next week, but curious what y'all think.

Pain in my shoulder when raising my arm and pain in my upper forearm when doing curls with light weight. Think it is tendonitis of the bicep.... but has been going on since the summer. I've been taking it really easy hoping it would heal up, but starting to wonder if I tore something.

Probably an injury to the shoulder. Eveything else is referred pain if I had to take an less than medically educated guess.

Star doing some light bands to strengthen shoulders.

Really shitty injury.

I had surgery on my right shoulder/ bicep 2 years ago. Rehab was a bitch

Now.... My left shoulder/ bicep is doing the same thing. really don't want to have surgery on the other one

As previously stated, resistance bands are great for strengthening the shoulder area. I would highly recommend getting some if you don't already have some. Band pull aparts, face pulls & shoulder disloactes all with bands work very well

Good luck

I had surgery on the right one bc it had been torn so long all the interstitial fluid had formed a cyst and was choking off the subscapular nerve. It was miserable 5 month rehab and that gunsling was a bitch having to sleep sitting up and turn like Robocop every time I moved. My left one is partially torn, but doesn’t really effect anything I do so I ain’t having surgery on it!

Im right there with you

Did you get a SLAP repair done? Or something else?

I had a biceps tenodesis done on mine. So far it has worked pretty well, but I still have some concerns with the long term implications of that method

In an ideal world, I would have tried the stem cell route first, but it wasn't financially feasible at that time

Yeah, SLAP tear was repaired by Chip Bankston(he’s the Saints team Doctor now) and it is doing well. He gave me a cortisone shot in my left one about 18 months ago and pain never came back.
