Not for me. I’m done with sodas in general and processed artificial sweeteners as well.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/several-artificial-sweeteners-increase-cancer-and-cardiovascular-disease-risks-xylitol-may-be-suitable-for-diabetics-5398944

Per Wheat Belly / Super Gut & The Unholy Trinity sweeteners made from natural ingredients such as stevia, monk fruit, Allulose, Inulin, Erythritol, & Xylitol are safe.

I’m done with high fructose corn syrup, in general, trying as hard as I can to stick to Keto and/or Carnivore and limit carbs and sugar.

But you do you.

So I am late to the show and probably won’t read every comment but I was in high school in the late 80s and early 90s. Aspartame was super bad back then as I did a research project it. Aspartame has harmful long term effects. To many to list. Sucrulose is another stay away from.
Stevia I will do on occasion though not real sure of the quality of the stevia they put in those drinks.
Xylitol has been out long enough to know that there are benefits in this particular sugar alcohol that are not in the sorbitol and erythithol.
I can’t bring myself to drink a coke. I just figure they are made in some 600,000 ton tank that is seldom cleaned and has rat turds floating around. Probably some disgruntled employee using it as his urinal. Otherwise it probably taste good now and then. regardless drinking it daily is probably an addiction and should be avoided.

Man, once you go off that "What if there's rat turds in this?" cliff, there's no coming back. You can't eat or drink anything at that point. Why?

Aspartame is an incredibly well studied compound. You have to take in ungodly amounts to even begin to run risks of problems.

Your high school research project 30 years ago does not negate the mountain of actual research done by scientists all across the world in the same time span

Very correct.
But back then medical periodicals and journals were the sources I used. The studies back then were not bought or funded with intent to mislead as they do today. Today’s script are changed within the world of internet. There a lot of junk out there and because it’s on the net people believe it. Information from 30 years ago have disappeared and been replaced/erased. Definitions and history can be added/subtracted and scrubbed altogether, this is the problem with information today.
I am a scientist and that’s what I did. The scientific method has been altered and bought. Science can be whatever the payment decides.
Aspartame is crap. Will always be. Not trying to be combative or die on this hill but studies have been changed and bought and none of it is as reliable.

Yeah the rat turds was a joke. But probably some truth. It keeps me out of coke.

all bullshite opinion articles

we have research studies that show they help with weight loss

again show me a cause and effect study showing they are bad

they can help with weightloss...proven people that use them as a way to curb cravings shows that they are more compliant

they dont negatively effect blood sugar in 95+ of people

i could go on and on but simply i dont have to prove shite to you. Layne norton has put out a ton of info on this, there are tons of easily verifiable studies that are simply a google search away.

just have to rid yourself of preconceived bias before reading them and you will see

Water is still better but there are plenty of benefits to them when dieting.

this is why half of you are still fricking fat or skinny fat. yall over complicate the shite out of it, worrying about making sure everything is perfect and arguing about shite that doesnt matter to 99% of people and their health journey.

I have been sober since April and had 0 soft drinks since then until a couple weeks ago when my wife bought a case of coke zeros. Now I will have about one a week, usually on a Friday with dinner. It a great treat that I dont feel guilty about.

Everything in moderation.

Congrats to you too! I have never felt better and the crazy part is that I don't really miss drinking at all anymore. I thought I would really struggle alot more than I have. My goal was to make it to 4th of july and be sober to lose weight but it became such a non factor I figure just go to the end of the year and see how things are going then. It helps that I moved to a different city in March and have a whole new routine with 0 drinking buddies in my neighborhood. Down to around 14% body fat from 21% beginning of this year.

Congrats!!!

I stopped drinking and tried my best to go 90 days without booze. Was hard for a heavy drinker like myself. Those 90 days turned into 12 years back in March.
