Can someone offer me advice on fixing bad posture?
I have slowly developed a bad posture over the years that has resulted in me looking like I have a gut when I really do not. It is pretty unattractive and I've really struggled to naturally fix it. Any stretches, exercises, etc. that have worked for any of you?

thanks a bunch

Planks, and as much time as you can hold it. You need to beef up your core, and your body can fix a lot of it.

I’ve drastically improved my posture over the last year ... still a work in progress but the progress slows the better you get.

I do these 5-7 days a week:

Fixing Shoulder Mobility I do this when I wake up. (10 mins)

DeFranco Agile 8 and HOW TO IMPROVE THORACIC SPINE MOBILITY I do a combination of these before I lift. (20-25 mins)

DUMP THE SLUMP Straighten Up and Fix Your Kyphosis I do these before bed. (10 mins)

I also try to be mindful of my posture when I hold my phone (keep my shoulders back) and when I sit in a chair. (Sit towards the back of the chair)

I realize that not everyone wants to put in an hour a day stretching but damn do I feel better. There’s also a few other little exercises I do that I’ve picked up along the way from various strength coaches.

This is the biggest thing I’ve been trying to commit to doing. Thank you for all the advice

I was coming here to say core workouts. A strong core can really eradicate lower back pain and help with posture.

This plus Concentrate on holding your stomach in when standing and sitting. Over time you will not have to think about it.

You may have an anterior pelvic tilt. It’s when your hips are aligned tilting forward instead of straight. Pretty common with people in sitting jobs actually. What’s wrong is the core is weak as well as the glutes. Your lower back and hip flexors are tight. You can fix it by doing strengthening the weak areas and stretching the tight ones.

Not sure if this is relevant to you but also with that and posture problems are the rolled forward shoulders. Fix would be to stretch more in the chest for example in a doorway and strengthen the back so it pulls your shoulders back.

Didn't do these initially to fix posture. Dead hangs with varying grips, was to help with shoulder pain and it did help a great deal.....My posture is also markedly improved as well as grip strength

I do 5 reps of 45 second hangs daily Body weight is 157

What is your rest time on that? Do you hang neutral grip or regular pullup?
