Botox for migraines?

Does anyone take Botox injections for migraines? Has it helped? Pros/cons? My current migraine preventative has become ineffective and I was just looking at options. Thanks!

Have you tried going to a Physical Therapist? What area are you in? Look for someone that can perform functional dry needling and/or a cervical manipulation.

I've had one round of botox injections in my neck muscles for severe, chronic headaches and I truly feel like it has helped. Not a complete 180, but much better!

Wife got it done for TMJ that caused headaches. Helped a lot.

Never tried botox but when my cluster headaches hit, my go-to is imitrex. My script comes in an auto injection setup. Average between 3-5min and headache is gone.

It works, but it's expensive.
Have you looked into biologics like Amovig. It's a once per month injection and has worked wonders for my son's chronic migraine headaches.

I have. I was on Aimovig for 2 years before it became ineffective. Most recently I was on Qulipta and it became ineffective (it was a pill and I certainly didn't miss those shots). I know there are several others like Aimovig, but I was just curious about something totally different, like Botox.

How much water do you drink daily? I’m not suggesting a lack of water is causing migraines, I’m just curious about correlation.

Dehydration can be a trigger for me, so I'm religious about drinking at least 100 oz/day.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been prescribed every medication out there, few have had little affect, and then my body creates an immunity to them.
I have never tried botox, but a good friend did about a year ago and it dang near killed him. He had a reaction to the botox and spent nearly two weeks in the Hospital. I'm simply afraid to try it after seeing what he went through.

It's not so easy. Despite the water lack there are way too much other triggers.
