Best Watch/App to track calories burned?

Hi all,
So I mainly sit all day at work as I have an office job. I've gained some weight and it sucks but at my previous job I walked anywhere from 3 to 6 miles a day in a warehouse. Very rough estimate.
I'd like to be able to track how many calories I burn a day sitting down all day and also how much I burn working out after I work. I want to do this so I can adjust my diet and calorie consumption accordingly.
My gf has a Fitbit Charge 2. Are watches like that really accurate when it comes to measuring calories burned? I've read that Fitbit is pretty good when it comes to counting steps, is it as good measuring calories burned? I prefer a watch over an app as I feel it is just better than having to carry my phone 24/7.

I have the charge 2, I've heard for active people it overestimates by 10-15% which seems to be the case with me.

I ended up going with the apple watch when I started looking into it, they've made pretty big strides in pivoting towards the fitness types. Some of the others are probably better in that dept. currently but then have the overall synchronization with my phone just made more sense to pay a little more

I love the Apple Watch for the reasons in your post OP. The notification when the watch detects you haven’t atood up in a hour is great. Reminds me to get up out the chair and move around a bit.

yeah not sure of the accuracy on their calorie account but its still good for at least a visual daily gauge

I got a FitBit Charge 2 on Black Friday last year and I love it. I was getting really, really bored with workouts. Now, I'm obsessed with steps and hitting my calories burned goal every day.
I wasn't sure how much I was gonna dig the FitBit, so I didn't spend the extra money for the Blaze or Ionic. This year I will probably go for one the watches just because they look better. The Charge 2 isn't exactly a manly look.

I just got a Garmin Fenix 5 and it “tracks” calories burned. I recently did some body Composition Testing (dexa scan, resting metabolic rate, and vo2 max) and learned what my body burns at rest and at different heart rates so I can get myself really dialed in this yr. So far I think the Garmin is pretty close...probably within 5-10% which should be close enough for long term trends and adjusting daily intake. There’s a free app that tracks steps, heart rate, calories burned, sleep, etc. Pretty cool information if you decide to get that into it.
