You are going to love it. I have a feeling you are about to catch the equipment bug.

What's so special about a "deadlift" bar being talked about in this thread?

It is thinner and longer with longer sleeves than a normal bar. It's thin for better grip and combined with the length, this allows more whip. Essentially you have the bar about an inch or so higher than a power bar before the plates actually break the ground. It's made just for deadlifting and used in competition.

Got my OPB today! I like the knurl. I'm going to do a comparison vs the Cap ob-86pbck soon.

Glad to hear. Yea I love the knurl. Yours is a little more aggressive but still awesome.

It's not as aggressive as I thought but it is very grippy. I heard that before on a video comparing it to the Texas Power Bar. It wasn't as deep but grippier.

Yea that's how the regular Ohio is versus the Texas power. Not nearly as deep but a little sharper and very very grippy.

I plan to buy 3 of the stainless rep fitness bars that were rejects due to failed gear treatment. They are good to 405lbs and honestly are more than that according to testing on the body.com forum. Everyone over there loves them and in my new gym I will have separate bench, incline and seated press benches so these would work perfect for those and at only $139 a pop, hard to beat.

I'd really look into those CAP OB-86PBCK that I had. It really is a good value. I like the knurl on it especially with the zinc on it. It's 28.5mm with a 1500lb load. I think the Tensile is like 150ksi.

Yea on-86 is what I normally recommend but the rep fitness bar is a $400+ bar that happens to be on closeout due to it not being able to handle loads over 400 on a conservative rating, very conservative. I will never bench, incline or press more than that and If I did get my bench up that high, wouldn't be much higher than that to worry about.

That's a static rating I believe. I think if dropped you need to consider that as well.

Yea it's static, all ratings are static, if it's dropped it would bend. It would not break due to no heat treat. But like I said these are going on a bench, incline and press station that will be similar to rogues monster bench station with the strap safeties so not worried about it.

Should be good. I just didn't know if you planned on doing any Oly lifts at all on them.

No these bars will simply stay in the station. My Texas power bar will be my inside rack bar. Ohio bar as press/clean/row bar and will be getting a deadlift bar.

Prolly eventually gonna get a bunch of specialty bars also.
