Did my first "low impact ride" and it was nice for 30 minutes, can't really see myself going much longer than that. My feet kept slipping off the damn pedals.

Considering doing them every off day from the lifting. I don't expect the bike to get cobwebs like our treadmill.

How often are y'all hopping on the Peloton?

Get some damned clipless pedals and bike shoes.

I do the Peloton at the Y. I had issues getting Bluetooth shite (watch, phone, earbuds) to sync. I need to figure that out or else I'm bagging it.

I got some big ole feet. Peloton doesn't make my size.

Going to get over a bike shop this week I guess.

I’ve had one since November and I love it. Great variety of classes and instructors and they’re constantly adding content. My wife also just recently got into it so now we have to fight over the bike before bed time. If peloton doesn’t have shoes for you go to a bike shop, they will have shoes that fit you and install the clips that fit the peloton for you.

I drove to 3 different stores and no luck.

One store is ordering me a pair to try on and I searched online for a while and ordered a couple pairs that’ll come in this weekend. Will choose one and send the rest back.

I use the Peloton App on my non-peloton indoor trainer. I think I pay like $13 a month. My bike comp can keep up with everything I need except power (which I do miss). I also use the app for yoga, stretching, ab workouts, and occasionally running. Works out pretty good for me in my situation.

In regards to feet slipping off pedals I wanted to share this. Pedals for Ice and Snow We do alot of fat tire biking here in the snow and I needed to go back to traditional pedals but I needed something with more grip. This is a pretty good site with information you might be interested in.

How much are they, couple grand? I know young have to pay a monthly fee for all the programs and whatnot. Seems like a great way to start your day off with an empty stomach 20-minute HIIT session before you leave the house. Anything after that is lagniappe.

Here's the trick to getting the Peloton synced with you phone and watch. You need to download the app, Strava. Strava will sync with Peloton and it syncs with you phone/watch. It's basically a middle wear that passes the data from bike to phone.

Yes, OP, I have a Peloton. I ride it almost every day if I am not traveling for work. And, if the hotel has one, I will ride it there, too. I've even ridden in the studio a couple of times in NYC.

I would like to have one to use for cross training, but I wouldn't use it often enough to pay 2 grand for it.

I have a $400-500 indoor trainer and pay $13 a month for the peloton app. Sure you aren’t competing against others in the class, but you still have access to all the classes.

Good to know. That’s much better. It might be worth the investment for my wife and I

What instructor did you ride with? Did you meet them after?

Get a real bike and a stand and put it in front of your tv. You could buy a new tv too and it would still be a lot cheaper. Plus you can actually ride it around

Yes. I rode with Denis both times. The last time was my 150th ride, so I got a shout out in the studio. (1/23/2020 ride with Denis if you want to see it.)

He makes a joke about me living on the Alabama gulf coast and asks if he can go to the FloraBama with me. (I have a slight man crush on him).

And yes, you get to hang out afterwards.

That Weezer ride was awesome. I rode a Red Hot Chili Peepers ride the other day that you should check out if you like rhcp. (It wasnt Denis though - it was Emma Lovewell)

Take a look at Zwift. You use your own bike and a smart trainer. The app controls the resistance on the smart trainer and you compete against virtual riders on a road course. The app is about $14 a month.

Emma did a Coldplay ride that was great as well. I’ll check out her RHCP ride

If you're looking to build actual bike fitness and don't have a lot of time to go outdoors, they have power-based programs that are pretty good. Not sure how accurate the power measurement is (I suspect not very) but my experience based on about a dozen rides is that the numbers are precise. There are other ways to do this if you already have a bike but the Peloton is a pretty sweet unit and has the class format which some people really like.
