Anyone had a brachial plexus injury?

I got spiked on my hearing jiu jitsu training on Sunday. My left arm feels cool and light like a noodle, the worst impacted area is my arm pit.
Luckily I’m still able to move it and it’s my dominant hand, just wish there was something to speed up my recovery

Grandson suffered stretching injury( neurapraxia) two of the brachial plexus
nerves left arm pole vaulting in high school.
His was severe,it took two years to get back to normal.
I would see a neurologist to get evaluated and get a better idea of what you’re looking at-severity of your injury, restrictions of activity, possible physical therapy and approximate time to full recovery.
Don’t try to “tough” your way through it.Nerve injuries take their sweet time recovering and you could possibly make it worse.
Good luck!

I had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and surgery to open the area up more and it took a very long time for those nerves to heal up. It was excruciating, but things did heal and I don't have problems anymore. I hope it's just an acute thing for you and things go back to normal quickly!

Trying to understand what you did while rolling? Not really tracking on getting spiked on my hearing. Did you get dumped on your head? Standing or actually on the ground?

Go to a neuro, get it checked out. You saying that it feels "cool" sounds more like thoracic outlet syndrome. Since it's very acute, you may have some muscles tightening up (scalenes) from that throw. Those scalenes attach to the first rib and can elevate that enough that can impinge on those nerves and blood vessels that flow through there. You saying it's "cool" tells me that those blood vessels are being pinched off. See a Neuro to be positivie, then PT should be able to stretch those scalenes/traps if it is what I suspect.
Good luck and I hope this helps

most doctors aren't trained on those injuries. Go see a vascular guy. I wasted a lot of money on neurologists that didn't know shite.
The best Thoracic Outlet guy is in Dallas, Dr. Pearl. He did my surgery 4 years ago to release my pec minor.
He operates on anyone relevant in baseball that's had this injury. Most recently Jacob DeGrom.
Nice guy too. Guys been doing these 30+ years.
