I'm a normal middle-aged dude that has a desk job and lift/run 6x a week, so a lot of repetitive stress (nb4 masturbation joke).

I always have pain in my right(dominant) elbow, forearm, and wrist. My pinky and ring finger always tingle and throb when i type and use the mouse.

I did a nerve test with my hand surgeon, and it confirmed carpal and cubital tunnel, and he wants to do release surgery in both the wrist and the elbow.

Just curious who has had it and if you'd recommend it. Also, what were your symptoms beforehand?

Had it done 6 weeks ago. My hand would fall asleep every day giving the pins/needle feeling to thumb and two fingers.
Also pain in wrist and thumb.

Get the surgery. One week in a soft cast and full recovery in less than 4 weeks. No longer falls asleep or any pains.

Good luck!

Which one, carpel or cubital?

Are you back to normal?

I had carpal tunnel surgery. Was improved for a while by wearing a brace when I slept - really helped. Then I went to Europe for 3 weeks and forgot the brace. The carpal tunnel returned and would not go away. Could not feel anything with my thumb, index, and middle finger. Surgery fixed it. Feeling returned immediately. Total recovery took 6 weeks or so, but the carpal tunnel has been gone for a decade or so now.

I had both at the same time. Mine was due to severe injuries suffered in a plane crash so I’m not sure the results will be the same as yours but I am very happy with the results.
Increased mobility, sensation, dexterity, and reduced pain.
I used Dr Robbie Leblanc in Lafayette.
Rehab lasted about 3-4 months and was relatively straight forward
