They are allowed to mix synthetics into the "natural flavor" without having to list them, according to Google search

Wait ... natural flavors are bad?

This is why i hate and do not trust the FDA.

quote:

“Natural flavors” are similar to artificial flavors but differ because they are made by altering a product that was originally natural. But by the time it’s processed, the product may no longer be what most would consider natural.

“That's where it gets confusing for consumers,” says Maccoux. “We see ‘natural’ and think it's a good thing, but the ingredient may have been altered 100 times before ending up in a specific food.”

quote:

While natural flavors are value-neutral in terms of calories or nutrients, they likely contain chemical mixtures that are not at all “natural”. Although manufacturers are required to list “natural flavors” on ingredients lists, they are not required to list the various chemicals that were used to alter the original food source.

Holland Hospital.

Why in the hell would the FDA allow these additives to be called "natural"?

Olive and coconut oils are the only ones to use cooking. It’s difficult but the more natural you go the easier it is

Ghee is a good option for higher temp cooking too. Grass fed butter for lower heat situations.

True, so is Talow for lower temps. I use tallow a lot but I haven't made any in a while.

They're at least not what they sound like. My understanding is they synthetically make something that naturally occurs. So like "natural orange flavors" don't come from an orange. They're made in a lab in an attempt to mimic their structure in an actual orange.

I think it's just a loop hole to hide ingredients or make something sound benign.

I’ve gotten them out of my diet by going carnivore.

The only plant I consume is 8 ounces of coffee for my pre-PT beverage.

I get 140-200 grams of protein daily along with 200-250 grams of animal fat daily. 0 total carbs.

Going practically full carnivore has been less difficult than I thought it would be and I feel really really good physically and mentally.

Most of the foods I eat don’t have ingredient labels.

Eggs
Beans
Potato
Olive oil
Avocado

That’s breakfast

Turkey
Bell pepper
Carrots
Squash

That’s lunch

Protein
Carb
Vegetables

That’s dinner

Apple
Banana
Oats
Milk

Those are snacks

Of course I don’t only eat those foods but the frequency with which I eat prepared food is not enough for me to be wary.
