Mom and Sis both had theirs removed. Think Sis's was only partial. Both take Synthroid now daily. Mom w/out it can hardly muster enough energy to wash a single load of laundry, and forget running it through the dryer.

Both were HYPO, not hyper, thyroid diagnosis.

Ever tried any non-prescription supplements, specifically Thyrocsin (Thorne) or L-Tyrosine?

If you're taking a large dose, take the generic.
If you're taking a small dose, take the name brand, Synthroid.

At smaller doses, the miniscule differences in quality control between the generic and name brand can throw you off. I've you're at .75mg or above, it doesn't matter if it's off by .05 mg.

Another tip: Cut down your alcohol consumption as much as possible.

No, I have not. I honestly didn't even realize I had an issue with my thyroid until I was doing a hormone work up for my fertility doctor. They put me on the medicine and it was a game changer. I have a lot more energy than I used to and just feel better all around so I keep taking it.

Yep! Had thyroid cancer several years ago, so they removed the gland and a couple of sets of lymph nodes. I take 250 mcg of levothyroxine daily (which is a bit much honestly and I'm going to talk to my doctor next month about reducing that a bit.)

Oddly enough, my calcium level has been running slightly high for the past couple of years and it was determined last month that I have benign tumor on my parathyroid gland, so getting that yanked in a couple of weeks.

I take 200mcg every morning right now. No food 2hrs prior and 30min post. Your dose may change periodically depending on bloodwork.

Side question: Does anyone else feel like shite for a couple weeks every time you have a dosage change?

Just had that done. Wasn’t bad at all.
