Except for October, right?

Day 7, hope those biceps have recovered.

Wouldn’t have minded some triceps. May throw some of those in this weekend as well as a higher pullup range.

Yeah last year I couldn’t do Deadcember because of holiday travel. (Which got cancelled when a family member COVID which was a bummer on both accounts)

And this year we’re having another baby kid-December so looks like my first Deadcember will be December 2022! Damn. The shirts are fire too. Too bad!

Weekends are always rest days? So if I take tomorrow off, I just start back up where I left off and finish on Saturday?

Yeah but that’s cheating IMO … not that my opinion matters.

Day 7 done. My biceps are so shot.

It was the easiest day so far though.

Yes, you could. That’s better than getting behind and quitting.

But if you skip one it’ll be a whole lot easier to skip another.

If you can do the workout today, then do it today. It’s not going to be any easier tomorrow.

Shoulders were indeed burning but overall a pretty mild day. First full week down though.

I'll hit Bench, OHP, Deads and maybe even Squat this weekend in the 1 - 5 rep range. Last year i lost strength in that rep range in bench, press and deads and I won't let that happen again.

Haha, I'm not skipping because I'm tired and want to rest. I'm skipping because I'm working long hours during the week and have an infant to watch while my wife takes a break. I still make it to the gym 5-6 times a week but the schedule has to be a bit flexible nowadays. Easier for me to go on a weekend morning than every day after work.

Sounds like you have it figured out! Yeah definitely better to be flexible and still get it done.

I have a brother-in-law who said he missed a few days so he was going to try to squeeze them all into one day haha so just general advice to make sure you're not just being lazy. Doesn't sound like that's your case.

Yeah I feel that. We have a 14 month old and another on the way in December. I’m up at 5:15 most days to knock out Squatober. Go to work after and family time in the late afternoon and evening.

Another pretty easy day. I think my previous training has prepared me well. I’m use to 2:00min being my longest rest periods when I run 5/3/1 and I live in either the 1-5 rep range or 10+ during my accessories so when I get sets of 3-5 at 75%-80% of my TM with extra rest I feel pretty smooth.

You know I was thinking about the triceps comment earlier, not sure why he isn't putting much in this year. Normally his programs are more bicep light and triceps heavy. Also usually heavy on rowing and benching vs pressing & chins

As I work my way through today’s workout, I think this year has been more well rounded than last year. I do wish he worked a bit more in the 80%-95% ranges but I think he’s giving the people what they want. A little pump and a little bodybuilding.

I’ll get into those percentages on the weekend to keep from losing it like last year.
