Fairly quick one today.

Flipped h, t, t, t for dead’s then h, h, t, h fit bench.

Rolled through the accessory’s until pull ups. Those kill me.

But neither myself or the BW did that.

And I didn’t respond to either one of you. I responded to the poster that did 1 rep and 135/225/315, who isn’t smart.

No I don’t think loading up 90% is a great idea.

So we agree. What was the need for your whiny post?

Day 24 done

So in hometown and 1st gym closed today that I’ve gone to before which I know has right equipment and had to end up at a Planet fitness. Get a week pass and then find out they only have smith machines no squat racks or loose bars….

Had to adjust todays and modify with what they had… oh well, adapt and overcome. Increase weight scheme and reps and got a good workout in…

Merry Christmas, fellas!

Day 24

Other than the front squats, today went great. Those last 2 sets of front squat almost felt like a typo though. Deficit deadlifts were smooth and I enjoyed both supersets. SS2 especially got my heart pumping. Heavy goblet squats, heavy BB good mornings, and fast plate twists; loved it.

----------

Day 26 - The Fridge

Deadlift - 2 min rest
5@70%, 3@75%, 1@80%, 1@85%

Incline Press - % taken from bench; 2 min rest
5@65%, 3@70%, 1@75%, 1@80%

SS1 - 2 min rest
Pullup (as fast as possible) - 3x3
Bicep Curl (heavy) - 3x5
Planks - 3x30 seconds

SS2 - 2 min rest
Close Grip Bench Press (HEAVY) - 3x5
Front DB Shoulder Raise - 3x8
Band Tricep Extension - 3x15

Day 24 done. Couple days behind but I’m still in this.

Had nothing left in the tank after front squats. Took a big break after squats before moving into the SSs.

Those front squats got me also. I wasn't prepared for that much weight.

Day 26

Knocked this one out today (day behind). It was quick and straight forward. I'll be finishing out the last couple days at a different gym. I'll probably have to adjust some as this is a SMALL gym. Had to use the squat rack for pullups, incline bench, and flat bench today.

-----------

Day 27 - Comet or Blitzen?

Deadlift - MOVE IT FAST! 90s rests
3@50%, 3@60%, 1@70%, 1@70%

Backsquat - 90s rests
3@50%, 3@60%, 1@70%, 1@70%

SS1 - 2 min rest
DB Jumps - 3x5
Lunges (no weight) - 3x5
Banded Pull Through - 3x5
Ab Rollouts - 3x5

Day 27 done. Quickest one of the month. Added a few extra squats at the end bc I wasn’t ready to leave

Didn’t realize tomorrow is PR day. But I’m all caught up and back on schedule.

Day 30

Hit a PR today, but not thrilled with it. Increased my PR by 15#, but that's 15# under the TM I was using. I'm planning on taking another shot at it when I get back home on 1/5. I want to test using the same bar and weights I typically train with. The gym where I am this week has 2 bars with very different weights, but neither has the actual weight stamped on it. I'm assuming the bar I used is a typical 45# bar, but I'm not certain.

I hate that there only 3 of us doing it this year. I like PR day when we get to read everyone's PRs

Same! Are you doing Benchuary? I'm thinking about doing either Hypertrophy or Big Back Billy for Jan.

New PR today at 485! Started month at a 1RM of 455 and was using a TM of 432, which was 95%. 475 felt good, which was my goal today, but it felt good so I added 5s to each side and went once more. Next year the goal is 500.

I think I am going to pass on Benchuary, I want to do some cross training and mix it up for a bit.

Congrats on PR Jose, 485!

On fence on benchuary assuming this is in Feb? January is going to be a cut / diet focused month for me, I’m carrying some unwanted flab around and need to get that eliminated…. Will still lift but dial it back and definitely not 5 days a week

Sorry man! I wanted to do it, but I've been in a good groove since November. Squats, bench, and deads have all gone up. I plan on keeping up my current plan through January and then evaluating what Benchuary is going to look like.
