btw if you like the programming, i suggest buying a program from believe thrower and pen and paper strength app and supporting both Daniel Mckim and Aaron Ausmus. both are good guys. AA with PPSA does squatober and DM with BT does the deadcember programming.

daniel is honestly an amazing guy, huge christian. Both are great family guys. Hell AA was S&C coach at USC and after getting let go went completely private so he could be around his boys more. great people

First time doing this program and halfway through and just dont feel this programming is as difficult as squatober or some of the other pen and paper workouts. Feels more basic strength. The squatober had so much extra reps built in from the warmup through the cardio.

it is very basic strength but its a good program to end the year with. McKims typical programming has more reps but imo ppsa is for sure higher volume.

This program looks retarded tbh. Drawing cards to determine reps and advocating eating shite amongst other things.

its one day lol and its abotu building volume. Deadcemeber in general, like squatober, is about building volume in the specific lift while building comradery in the community and having fun. its a nice break from strict programming.

but unless you are an athlete or an elite lifter....then you would benifit from both squatober and deadcember

well daniel mckim is offically part of the little debbie lifting team...so yea he is gonna advocate them. plus he is a highland games athlete (most consider him the G.O.A.T) and isnt concerned about a little extra calories.

Im not impressed by the actual program at all halfway through it, and advocating eating shite food on pretty much every workout is stupid, just my opinion.

well these guys are into strength training, they literally do not care about physique. and like i said...he is literally on the little debbie lifting team and is going to advocate eating them lol.

Which I fundamentally disagree with, and I don't even find the program that good. I would get less fit and probably not really any stronger running this program.

My overall point is you can spend your time much more efficiently in the gym and not do a program where the programmer isn't giving you ridiculous nutrition advice.

If you like it, no harm no foul, good for you. I wouldn't recommend it.

see here is the problem...you are a "big ole baw" that is focused on completely diffrerent goals than what this program is meant for.

when lifting for strength....you need to be in a caloric surplus in general. and 1 little debbie is not going to make a big difference as the goal is strength

ok bro.

is the programming perfect...no but it is very good programming for getting your deadlift stronger as evidence by 4 years of people setting PR after PR on the testing day.

And my opinion is you could set the same PR with much more efficient programming over the same time frame.

as in what? this program isnt for a novice.

its a 4 week program, in fact its less of a program and just month long programming which is a huge difference.

squatober and deadcemeber arent meant for perfect programming.

Deadlifting twice a week with a third day having some accessory movements that complement the deadlift and other movements. And doing other shite to actually be more fit and stronger that don't include the "cardio" walking back to your car.

That's made abundantly clear with the programming. Squatober isn't that bad, but this deadcemeber programming is awful

Not really cause you only have 15 sessions or so before you go to peak. Not enough volume.

Cardio is pretty useless in getting stronger. I get your a bigger boy so you like it but it's not needed.

No it isn't for strength training. And both are programmed by lifters and coaches that are much more accomplished than either of us.

It was was different and just a way to switch things up to undulate the periodization. It was a first for me, and I liked it.

Man, you sound like a lot of fun. I don't think that part was meant to be taken seriously and a Little Debbie snack after a workout isn't a bad thing...shite I also love those Christmas tree cakes. You can achieve your fitness goals while occasionally eating shite food.
And not that it's a good thing, but you have Instagram fitness people advocating gummy bears and rice crispy treats while working out for an extra energy bump and muscle pump.

The best part of this program and the squat program is the anticipation of what tomorrows program will be and then discussing it with all your friends that are doing it also. It builds a community. Some people think we are crazy doing it. We like it because its different and we all are doing the same things that day

well he posted in another thread that he does cardio everydayso....something like deadcemeber isnt going to be something he likes

and he apparently doesnt ever eat snacks.

if i have to go through life, even a cutting phase with not being able to have sushi or a little debbie after...then frick that.

hell Rocket is one of the strongest and most ripped guys on this whole board and he eats nutella like every damn day lol.

Those two days were tough. I started Squatober a little late so I only had a couple weeks to rest up for Deadcember, so I am definitely starting to feel it.
I am actually cheating a little bit and not lifting next week since I am going on a skiing trip next week. At least I will be active skiing and hiking all week.

I tried to like this program but it just doesn’t do for me what Squatober did. I think I’m going to call it.

I want to throw PPSA a bone. Anyone recommend a particular program? I want to hit the big three and work 4-5 days a week.
