I've purposely avoided this thread for this reason.
Good luck runners! Represent Tigerdroppings' H&F Board well. Chicken is watching.

I would 100% wear a TD singlet that had Chicken's image. I've decided to set myself with a lofty half marathon goal for next year's LA Marathon.

Running against a 15mph wind will make it feel like I’m running at course record pace!!
Buddy asked me today what my pace goal was and I told him “finish pace”

Good news, only 12 mph winds for BR now. Still 40 degrees at race time with high humidity.
HTX back to 34 degrees with 17 mph winds. Yikes.

AccuWeather showing 32 degrees (feels like 20) at 7 am. Even at 10 am, it’ll be 36 (feels like 28). Looks like I’ll be ditching the singlet in favor of a long sleeve

Good luck today runners! Hope y’all crush those goals.

Tomorrow's weather:
BR at 40 degrees with 67% humidity, 12mph winds
HTX at 31 degrees with 53% humidity, 18mph winds
This is going to be a tough marathon for everyone down here.

Y’all done yet? Cold and windy here in Bham.
ETA: One of the Cadance guys from here in Bham broke the Houston course record for the half 59:17. Came in 2nd. Heard it was a battle to the finish.

Went sub 1:33 for a great race. I'll post a longer recap in the running thread once I'm home but I'm stoked about my time. It was windy as a bitch those last few miles

10:20ish pace for the full. Was my first marathon and longest run ever. Didn’t have anything to compare it to but seemed like a ton of spectators and cheering sections, I had my nutrition plan so I didn’t want to deviate but man between the beer, shots and king cake I could have really had a “blast”
If I wasn’t on a mission lol.
I would say I will run it and have a fun run next year but as I was finishing the last 3m I started thinking how I could shave some time off if I would have trained more time focused instead of just finishing strong.

2:54:xx here. Shaved 3 min 31 sec off previous PR. My AG qualifying time for Boston is 3:00:00. Hopefully this is enough to get me in for April 2026!

Good stuff! I bet that gets you in.
It seems like a ton of people PR'd today despite the wind and cold. Honestly, once I got a warmup in and started the race I didn't notice the cold anymore. And that was with just a singlet and half tights. I think y'all were a few degrees colder in Houston but it really was a pretty day to lay it out there
