What made them stop in the first place? In my opinion a much better layout and would attract more pros, the conditions aren’t much different as Tpcla wasnt in good shape this year.

What are your credentials to have this opinion?

Brown is not always bad.

I like ET more than TPC, but it’s not like either is Pine Valley.

I believe it has to do with the tour owning TPC Louisiana. Just a $$ grab that clearly does not work.

English Turn is light years better IMO.

Walked with pros friday-sunday, the fact that theyre redoing all the fairways tells you it’s not as good as it should be

I don’t thing ET is set up space wise anymore to hold a tour event with how much stuff needs to be brought in.
And I don’t think the members really want it

You are out of your mind if you didn’t think that course was in great condition!

Wrong! All nice clubs do this every 10-15 years!

I like to play ET more than TPC. The crowds seemed bigger at ET but I think that was due to the layout.

I hate TPC, but it was in great shape. The greens were rolling amazing... super smooth and fast.

TPC is a boring layout. English Turn is a much better layout.

I asked the pro at ET a few years ago why they don't host anymore and he said part of the reason was ET was too easy. Guys were turning par 5s into short par 4s.

I do think the tour is moving tournaments to TPC courses because of the ownership aspect, and they were also built to host tournaments. As much as I don't like TPC when I play it, it is a fantastic place to watch golf. You can stand in one spot and watch multiple holes, there is sufficient space to have the hospitality tents, and they have enough length to make it long enough for the current tour player.

None of those reasons are 100% the reason, but that's the reasons that went into the move, at least partly.

I played TPCLA back in January and it was in really good shape.

Just my two cents, maybe it has gone to shite since then

I’ve been in the golf course maintenance industry for over 20 years. Clubs will do major renovations on a regular basis, whether it’s bunker renovation, new irrigation, sometimes total renovation. Just because you may not like a course, doesn’t mean it’s bad!

Didn't mean to offend you, Mr. Spackler. I was just pointing out that completely re-sodding fairways and greens is not routine maintenance, but also doesn't mean the course is bad, only that it could be better.

Also, Since we've got you here, why is it that bunkers in Louisiana are just largely shite?

I like the spackler jab! I guess the easiest way to make my point is, the project at TPC is a no brainer being that the tournament is there! We cover the south eastern US, that’s why I said most of your nicer clubs do this fairly routinely but not always full reno’s.
