Broadcast last night said he was on pace to match/exceed 2006 Tiger for the best tee to green numbers since strokes gained became a recorded stat.

His old putter was causing mis-alignment issues for some reason.

I'm not sure why this is downvoted because this 100% happened the first tournament he played after Rory said this.
I don't think Rory saying this was the reason he switched. But coincidentally, it happened right after he said it.

Not sure I'd call him great just yet.
But almost everything else he does is so far and away better than the competition that he just needs to be an ok putter and he's going to win a lot.
It's the best golf we've seen since Tigers prime.
