What is the best place to get fitted

Started golfing about 3 years ago and bought a cheap pair of clubs just to see if I would enjoy the new hobby. Turns out I really enjoy it and want to upgrade my set but want to get fitted first. Any suggestions?

Bebu Golf Studio. You’ll have a great experience.

For those that have been to Bebu, is there a push to use aftermarket shafts like I read about at Club Champion? I’m looking for a fitting, but I likely only want to pay for stock options. I’ve hit a few irons on a trackman with both stock and $60 upcharge shafts with little difference between them. However, the irons were not fit to me.

No push. It’s actually quite the opposite. He tries and gets you in the best bang for the buck.
Example 1 - when I got fit for my driver the best shaft was an aftermarket shaft. The second best was stock. He said there wasn’t enough of a difference to justify an up charge.
Example 2- before I got fit for that driver I had an M1. We hit new things and he wouldn’t sell me anything. He said he couldn’t put anything in my hands that would justify spending more money. I finally got a new driver just Bea cause I wanted to look at something new.
Example 3- went this week for a new 3-wood, mine broke. Wife was going to buy me a new one as a Christmas present. He said how were how did I like my old one. I said I loved it. He just got me a mint condition used head for $75 and tweaked the head weight to match my other.

Go to club champion(a professional experience)
Bebu is more of a used car salesman

My experience was similar. I went for a driver fitting and right off the bat, he said there likely wasn’t anything markedly better than my 2016 M2. We focused on the shaft. I gave him my budget and he found me the best option in my price range. I’m still using that club in 2020. Increased distance AND accuracy. Great experience. Went back recently for a putter fitting and it’s made a huge difference on the greens

Took my dad to Buddha for Father's day and he talked him into a stock shaft because it wasn't noticeably different than the aftermarket shaft and wasn't worth the extra expense.

Taylormade clubs by any chance?

I’m getting fitted at Club Champion in Orlando next week. I’ll report back.

Bebu was great for me. Less than $700 all in for fitting and optimization for me, about half of which were these expensive Japanese grips i wanted, which is probably unheard of anywhere else. He recommended I buy a couple cheap shafts on ebay and ship them to his studio for him to install in my 3 wood and hybrid, didn’t mess with driver, and soft stepped my iron shafts.

Had a good experience at Club Champion this past year. That said, it seemed interesting how I always seemed to be geared towards the most expensive shafts.
Seeing your stats on the trackman is very cool but also humbling.

That’s because the more expensive shafts are better.

The tolerances are tighter. That doesn’t mean that a stock shaft won’t work (even work best) for many people.

Well yea for the average players you will not see a big difference. But for the better players who are looking at tighter dispersion, they are unmatched.

That was my point. Basically... it depends. If you are a better player with a very consistent swing, you want to get exactly what you were fitted into. That is more likely to happen with an aftermarket shaft. However, someone’s best numbers may come from a stock shaft. And they may still get exactly what they need when they get it. But the odds go down a little because the manufacturing process with stock isn’t as consistent. Doesn’t mean it’s the wrong way to go.

Nobody was saying it’s the wrong way to go. I just simply said that aftermarket shafts are better. There’s a reason they are more expensive. More consistently made.

But going back to the context, that doesn’t mean Club Champion should be pushing them on every player from scratch to hack.
ETA: Better made but not necessarily a better fit.
