What happened to English Turn?

Just finished playing, they clearly got some damage from the storm last night, lots of down trees. They had Ramelli cleaning out there doing work all morning due to the storm I’m guessing.
But... besides the down trees, what the hell happened to that course? The greens are terrible, tee boxes are in horrible shape, sand traps have grass growing in them, if your ball is 2 inches off the fairway you aren’t finding it because the rough is so overgrown. Did ownership change?
I don’t see myself playing there again until I hear they have things back to normal again.

Juhas hasn't been the Superintendent there since March. Billy Casper Golf is managing the property.

I’m not familiar with billy Casper, what else do they manage? Do they have a bad reputation?

Presently they manage Copper Mill and English Turn. Formerly bayou oaks North and driving range, the national GC of Louisiana, and recently the island

That’s a shame. Although not fancy it’s probably my favorite course. Some complain about the small greens but I think it’s an interesting challenge. I’m sure theyre still charging an arm and a leg out there as well.

when English Turn at the PGA Tour Tournament it was awesome, you could get really close to the players.
I wish it would have never moved.

They need to clean house. Was always in elite shape. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it being bad in its existence till now

I played a couple weeks ago and it was bad especially those two par 3s. The greens are just sad; it looks like they just cut them smaller and smaller and smaller over time so there is a huge apron of fringe and a tiny 10’ wide green section. I really like the layout and the width of a course with that much water and houses, it’s a shame.

Ever since the owner Paul poon hired billy Casper to manage it the course has gone to shite. Lot of members have left recently to go to TPC
