My 56 degree loft wedge is very ambedextrous.
It can be a 52, a 58, a 60, and a 64.

Which wedges would you suggest to use as the higher bounce vs the lower bounce wedge?
I feel like skulling shots off of firm ground is a common miss now with the 54.

Again, what is your handicap?
Go PW, high bounce 54 (I'm assuming your current 54 is 10-12 degrees bounce), then a 58 with 8 degrees of bounce.
Do you practice short game stuff? Chipping off of tight lies is tough for even low handicap players. Wedge options help, but you still need to practice the different shots.

Yes because you automatically skull pitches buy having a standard bounce

Common practice is a lower bounce lob wedge (58 or 60) and a medium to higher bounce sand wedge (54 or 56). That's the approach I've taken, and it works well for me.
As dry as it's been here in south Louisiana, I've found myself using my low bounce lob wedge a lot more than I have in previous years.

Not sure about handicap but I have gotten to where I am consistent mid-90s lately.
I do practice short game, so I wanted to making sure I wasn't doing myself a disservice only having one wedge.
Appreciate the advice!

Good to know, thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about a gap wedge yet. Get a 58 degree with 8 degrees of bounce, head to a chipping area and work on hitting it off of tight lies, and out of the rough too. I use my 60 for almost every shot around the green unless it's a straightforward bump and run.
I think the most fun I have practicing is taking my 56 and 60 and just trying to hit every chip shot imaginable with them. Hood the face and run it, open it up and flop it.

A lot of it is distance based. Know your gaps in distance and find a degree that gives you that gap. Mine are about 15 yards between my PW, 52, 56, and 60 so it works for me. But I used to have a big gap between my PW and 54 so needed something to fill that.

I carry 50, 54 and 58 wedges. PW is 46.

Same. I'll go to my course after work and instead of play half the time I'll spend an hour and a half chipping and putting. Definitely dropped a stroke by doing that. Alignment sticks have really helped my putting as well.

I’ve been playing this shot a lot more lately. I try to hit “draws” with a closed face. It comes out low with some spin and checks pretty quick. Very controllable style of chipping to me versus using a 7 or 8 iron.

I’m going to against the grain some and say if you’re not a great golfer, you should get a gap wedge and a 56 degree and that’s it.

Same. I don’t feel the need for a 60

50,55,60 here
The 50 gets out to 130ish
Pw can be dialed in to 135 from there if needed
