English Turn or Timberlane would be my two suggestions on the westbank.

If money is not an issue, play TPC. We played it a few weeks ago and it was already in tournament condition. Easily one of the nicest courses I've ever played. Doesn't have much "scenery" surrounding it but the greens and fairways are much nicer than any other course in the area, especially this close to Zurich.

Seriously, TPC the week after the Zurich would be awesome condition wise but pricey.

Several years ago, my now BIL was getting married in mid may, so the all the guys in the wedding party played TPC the weekend after the Zurich. Some of the framing for the grand stands and tents was still up and the course was in great shape. Pretty fun experience I thought.

Definitely not worth $270 though.

I highly recommend playing Harbour Town on the Monday after the Heritage. Tees and hole locations are left in Sunday's locations and greens are tournament speed. Done it multiple times and it's worth every penny.

Is the state still subsidizing TPC?

Have a gymnastics meet the last weekend of April at the Alario event center in Westwego. Bringing my clubs with me, is TPC worth the $270ish or are there better options in the area? willing to drive 30+ Mins.

The greens fees typically get cheaper 1 or 2 weeks out. I'm not sure if the zurich will affect it, but the price it's showing on the website will go down

Check back at 2 and then 1 week out before booking anything.

Ok.. thanks for the advice. I have broken 70 there but that doesn’t matter. I seem to have touched a nerve. LaTour was once a great course and still is but will not prosper with management/owner that is present now. Minimal play and membership is not ever gonna change. I apologize for this disagreement. I guess we will have to wait and see what the future holds for this course.

It's a rich guys play place. As long as he keeps it in good shape and we can still play there I don't care if it gets lots of play.

Yes, has been for a good while now. Played it twice in the last month, once in a scramble then again with BIL. It's in good shape but still no food or cart girl.

If you want a high grade course with beautiful scenery then Brechtel would be a contender. You might be able to sneak on the course if you are stealthy.

Anyone ever go out there after work?

I have a meeting in Nola next week and I'm thinking about teeing off around 5 and trying to get 18 in. Anyone know what the course is like around that time? Will there be many people out playing slowly and holding me up? Also, do you know if they pick up carts at a certain time? TIA
