My rangefinder succumbed to the southeast Louisiana humidity Saturday so I’m in the market for a new one. Now the question. I’ve never had a rangefinder with slope on it. I don’t really play much outside of SE Louisiana so it’s not like I’m playing some massive elevation change courses. Is it worth the extra money to get slope. I’m leaning toward no. What are your thoughts on the matter?

Yes. The price difference is not that much so if I am going to invest in one, it's a no brainer to get one with slope.

Yea get the slope. It’s nice to have when you need it.

I bought the Callaway 300 pro with slope. I think they are around $200 new now. It's been a really nice rangefinder. My buddy has a $500 Bushnell and mine shoots pretty much identical to his adjusted and not adjusted for slope. It's only a year old so I don't know how long it will hold up but for now I've been very happy with it.

I have that callaway range finder too. It’s great and way better value than the bushnell

It’s lasted me probably 4-5 years and a few battery replacements

Also recommend the calaway.

But, I haven’t seen much difference between the two numbers in s. La.

Garmin Approach Z82. . .

It's pricey, but it sure is nice knowing the front, back middle, distance to hazards, and not having to have line of sight to the pin. And you can see the layout of a hole without playing the course before. So if you're playing a course for the first time, it takes some of the guesswork out of it.

I went with the Vortex Blade. It is their first offering into the golf line but they have been making great optics for a long time. The main reason I settled on it is the warranty. Description says that it is waterproof and that it has a no questions asked lifetime warranty. A friend of mine sent a rifle scope back to them that he damaged in an SUV rear hatch. He just filled out the warranty card, they sent him a shipping label, next thing you know brand new rifle scope in his mailbox. To me that sounds like I may never have to buy another rangefinder again. Hopefully it will be here by the weekend.

Vortex customer service is second to none. They kill it in that department.

I have one of the first Callaway rangefinder (Yellow) and it still works well over 10 years..

I also have the Callaway Pro RF and I can see through it better than my Bushnell that was stolen.

I have the precision pro and really enjoy it with the slope mode. Also has lifetime warranty on batteries, can request a new one each time.
