Is 5 when the rain stops altogether or just the lightning

It'll take an hour to get the course back in shape for the re-start.

The guys on SiriusXM seemed optimistic they could get it in today

Same thing with the line of sight drops. Oh, this tower line that I have a 0.05% chance might be in my way. Let me get a drop in the fairway somewhere

No update per NBC. Getting close to a Monday finish they say.

I think if you do something deemed “empirically unethical” even within the rules, you should be defaulted from the tournament
What Spaun did has ZERO place in golf. Be purposefully sought out a sprinkler head to drop the ball on. That is wrong no matter how you slice it

While I don’t like it, the problem is not with what Spaun did. It’s the rule that needs to be changed. Everyone else in the field is going to take full advantage of the rules, so he’d be hurting himself not to do the same.
I remember Bryson did something similar in his first US Open win. Hit the ball into heavy rough near the green. Was on a sprinkler head and was able to take a drop onto the green. He was going to win anyway but he took advantage of the rule to get out of the rough and onto the green. Don’t blame him.

You see the sprinkler head. You know exactly what you are doing.
What Spaun DID is TWICE as bad as Bryson
Spaun got relief from a sprinkler head so he moved to the side to drop it. He saw another sprinkler head and purposefully stood directly over that one and drilled the ball on it so he could move to the fairway….
It wasn’t a situation where he simply got relief from a sprinkler head he was standing on
And no I don’t think most players would do what he did

It seems like it would be simple enough to change the rule to where you are not allowed to take relief into a fairway if your original shot is in the rough.

But once again this wasn’t just “you get relief from the sprinkler head you are standing on”
He got relief from the sprinkler head he was standing on. No issue with his actions using this rule
However, he, on purpose, sought out another sprinkler head, a second different sprinkler from where he hit the shot to, so he could stand over and drop is ball on so he could get relief AGAIN
That is plain wrong regardless of the rule

I hate that he was allowed to do what he did. Hate it.
But I just don’t see how you can ask a guy with everything on the line to not take advantage of the rules like that if it’s allowed.. knowing that most everyone else in that situation likely plays it the same as he did.

He's not gonna win. So it doesn't matter. Rors is.

Did they not have camera’s working for Spaun’s shot while Cauley hit?
Feel like there should be video evidence of this.
