You can thank LIV for splitting the tours up. Outside of Brooks, Bryson, Rahm and Cam, there isn’t anyone that LIV has that would want to watch more of on the PGA.

Man, it’s been the same argument for 3 years now. Jay had the chance to stop it before it ever started

Oh & he’s the one who banned them from PGA

Who besides Bryson, Brooks, and Rahm do American golf consumers care to see play? I love DJ but he’s washed.

You could start with the 5 that just finished Top 15 at Masters.

DJ, Sergio, Phil may all be older but they would obviously make PGA events better. Sergio is actually playing great golf & is top 20 on data golf now. Surprised he missed the cut in Augusta

Gooch is probably the only other one I would want to see.

exactly, i know its like 5-7 meaningful golfers, but it makes the weekend leaderboards that more intersting.

Look i hate Fat Reed with the energy of a thousand suns, but i want to see his fat face on the screen so i can hate him actively.

I agree, and America loves a good villain as much as they love the protagonist. I don't agree with the other poster that there's 20 dudes on LIV that could move the needle, but I think there are 4-5. Niemann has been LIV's golden child for the last several years and has done nothing but shite down his pant legs on the biggest stages. Sorry, Jim. You're going to have to let that one go.

Take the 4-5 names on a leaderboard and instead of seeing that box as:

Scheffler
McIlroy
D. McCarthy
R. Henley
Aberg

You could see:

Scheffler
McIlroy
DeChambeau
Rahm
Aberg

There's a huge difference there, and I feel pretty damn confident that ratings would agree.

he’s 26. Still higher (#11) on datagolf than the golden child Aberg (#16). I’ll bump that thread later in the year

Aberg has played 5 majors and has 2 top 10s(2nd and 7th) and 3 top 20s

Nieman has played 23 majors and has 0 top 10s and only 1 top 20

They aren’t the same on the big stage at all.

Neimann was better than Aberg in 3 out of 4 tournaments they played against each other last year.

So Aberg plays better at Augusta. Thats all he’s got so far

Aberg can play 18 straight majors and miss the cut all 18 times and he will still have 2 more top 10s than Jaco did in his first 23 tries

Theres a reason you keep jumping to Datagolf for your comparisons, Jim. Niemann sucks anytime that it matters.

Why can’t LIV take the place of the WGC. That would be the best outcome of a merger

Why do you think they stopped doing the WGC?

If the WGC had a sponsor with arguably the deepest pockets in sports would they still be around today?

Maybe?

The WGC lost money, and had poor attendance by the fans and the players didn’t like it

Why would the PGA agree to a deal to do something again that already failed?

Why didn’t Aberg play in majors till he was 25? Joaco was playing them since he was 20

That’s besides the point, but you tend to think it’s some kind of gotcha instead of comparing their head to head results.
I’m claiming that Niemann is currently a better golfer than Aberg & youre bringing up results from the past 7 years

He chose a different path

And that path has led to far more success on the big stage

Because money talks. And apparently LIV has lots of it. I’m not a fan of LIV. I have watched a couple of their tournaments for no longer than an hour or so but I am a fan of some of their golfers. LIV isn’t going away. Maybe it’s time to figure out how to deal with them. What would your idea of a merger be?

If I was the PGA tour I would accept nothing less than dissolution of LIv

Their ratings are back and no players are jumping ship any more. It would make no sense to do anything else at the moment
