I’ve noticed on the LPGA tour it seems like you see more pros putting left hand low than not. Also I know a really good amateur girl player and she putts left hand low. You obviously see it on the PGA tour as well but why is it more prevalent on the LPGA?

I’m gonna guess and say it has to do with the stature of the players, I’m 6’2 and when I tried left hand low I felt like I was really hunched over it was just not a comfortable posture. Women being shorter and having shorter arms might have something to do with it.

Putters come in different lengths. I thought about it and I can't really think of an objective reason. I would bet that it's just a popular method taught by instructors who teach a lot of women. Most of the LPGA is taught by a small few.

I think is just comes down to the fact that the women struggle with putting(compared to male pros). They are trying anything they can to get better.

Sure but if you grow up using a standard putter and left hand low is easier you are more likely to continue that into your career.

I had that thought as well and bet it’s got something to do with it as well.

I’ve always said that if you want to watch a technical golf swing, watch the women. They can’t over power the swing the way the men can.

Left hand low is a great grip for people who snap the wrist. It’s a very technically sound way to putt straight back and through.

Maybe it just fits their thought process better? Take athleticism out of it and be insanely technically sound?

I don’t think this is it. Everyone is doing what they can to get better not just the women

But a lot of the men don't suck. The ones that do try all sorts of shite. Long, anchor, LHL, among others.
