Idk, I think it could work. Golf has gotten more popular every year, and it seems like every year prices go up and tee times get harder to make… No reason this couldn’t be the destination golf course in Louisiana, if time and money are dumped into it

Obviously the residents up there would never let it happen, but LA desperately needs a golf/spa resort and this would probably be the perfect spot for it. Great layout, great scenery, quaint little town nearby. That’s really how you make a course like this work financially.

I’ve gone to beaver last two Thursday at 2 and couldn’t get on until after 4. Most traffic I have seen there in a long time.

If bluffs has reasonable family membership, I will probably sign up

Little bit of info in the advocate: LINK

Still no closing date though. So I’ll believe it when I see it.

They can try again, but it will fail again. It’s just to far away. It won’t get enough traffic to sustain it at a descent level. It’s a fantastic track, but it’s just too far out in the sticks. Beaver Creek can’t draw enough players and it’s a lot closer.

I think you are very wrong on this aspect. If you build a nice public course with good conditions and good pace of play you will pack it out. Make it semi private and offer memberships it’s will be a hit.

Fantastic guy who is passionate about this property. Wants to turn this almost into a Boot Ranch kind of property. Couldn’t be more excited to see this happen.

The chatter is not to have to worry about that. It’s to attract people to take weekend getaways to hunt, shoot, Fish, golf and family area play ground and pool.

Hunt where? There’s not enough private property that is part of the sale? Fish where? In the golf course ponds? Shoot where? The homeowners will be extremely upset with this and I know the people across Thompson Creek will not be happy about that.
Just add some spa stuff, update the lodging, offer good food/bar and keep the course up. People will come.

I was on 18 tee one time and heard dogs running deer across Thompson...
we watched as a big doe came out on the sandbar, ran 100 yards or so down the sandbar...
then went back into the woods...
when the dogs got there they lost her...

Word is they are buying a ton of land around the area. That would be where I’m guessing.
