Played a couple rounds with it today and really like it. Was having trouble with the driver and could hit a 3 wood no problem. Now I have a 3 wood on steroids.

Could a high handicap guy like myself use this like a 5 wood? Things have been miserable with my driver the last couple of weeks.

I have the original one mini driver that I put in play occasionally. When it’s in play it’s a complete driver replacement. The club is 11.5 degrees and a rocket off the tee. I don’t ever hit it off the deck, so I can’t say it would replace a 5 or even 3 wood.

Rick Shiels did a video about it. Everything a driver does, it does worse. Everything a 3 Wood does, it does worse.

I have good and bad days with it. Bad is always dead left. I don't understand why I do it with that club, but not my regular driver.

*for him*, a guy who job is to play golf every day, which may not have any bearing on its utility for everyday golfers. I think a lot of people struggle with the swing and ball position changes needed to hit driver well, not to mention shaft length. Lots of people can’t keep from hitting the driver to the right which is in part due to the design of the club. Some people just aren’t comfortable with the driver. The mini driver addresses all of those things to some extent and I think has a niche for people. I played a 2 woods for years due to driver struggles but would have played a mini if it were available

I’d argue that the money they’d invest in this would be better spent on a driver fitting and/or a couple of lessons which would benefit them way more in the long term than a club that will underperform what all of their opponents are utilizing

I use mine when I’m just going through one of those phases with driver. It plays much different than a driver to me but I get similar distance off the tee with it.

It’s not a replacement for a well fit driver, it’s a temporary fix for me when I’m just lacking confidence in my driver period.

Lol, a 307cc mini driver. Goes and checks in bag and sees a 20 year old 300cc driver. Already got one I can't hit. Anyone want to buy it off me for $300?

Sounds familiar. I’m a terrible driver of the golf ball but a pretty decent wood player. I have used the Taylormade SLDR 12 degree mini driver for years and have gladly sacrificed a few yards for better accuracy.

I honestly kinda like the idea of the mini driver. But for me it’s too expensive for the limited use case for it.
