Could my 91 mph driver swing even get a golf ball airborne with that little loft?

DeChambeau is gaming a 5.5 degree driver and is looking for a 10 degree 3 wood.

He averaged 345 yards off tee Thursday.

He looks huge. Will the tour move toward extremely low lofts?

His lack of hinge, swing speed, and shaft dictate that. He’s creating a ton of dynamic loft because at impact he’s swinging way up on the ball. That will not work for anyone except him and long drive guys.

It would be tough. The shaft would also play a factor in launch trajectory. Many of the low degree drivers have super stiff and relatively heavy shafts. I have 115-120 swing speed and a 4degree Driver and I pound it but it has a low ball flight.

What is your carry and roll with that?

260 carry with 90 roll?

Look I play in The Rockies. I’m a tall athletic body. I carry it about 300-330 and usually rolls out to the mid to high 300s Fairways accuracy is about 40-50% With the 4 degree driver with 47 in shaft.

I’m not trying to brag. I’m answering his question. I may be the only one in this forum who actually owns the driver he is talking about. I apologize if I’m coming off as an arse. I’m a good golfer. And I supposed to be quiet about that?

It takes me two solid shots to go that far.

I play with some bombers, Korn Ferry journeymen, they all can bomb it over 300.

I guess there are bombers out there who can’t chip or putt very well and instead of being +4, they are 2.8 index.

Rolling out to 350? You should be a +3-5 hitting that far.

Too bad, fun guy to play 18 with. At least with him we knew he was just messing with folks with all the trash talk.

The dude said he plays in the mountains. I'm sure that elevation adds quite a few yards to his drive.

It's okay if someone is better than you at golf.

You guys are pretty dicks over here sometimes.

Grow up.

Edit:

Okay, I saw the dude's video in the other thread. Carry on...
