I know I will catch some heat for this but Bayou Oaks is awful. It is never in bad shape or anything but I really really dislike the layout. Classic Rees Jones disaster

Had 3 wheel golf carts. You haven’t lived until you’ve flipped one. Stick the front wheel in a hole going down a hill, it will.

Started playing golf when I was 12 or 13. I would go to my dads business in Coushatta on the weekends/summer and he bought me a 3 wheeled golf cart to drive to the course. Coushatta Country Club, it was a nine hole course. I would just drive it on the roads through town as a 13 year old, just sitting at red lights with cars behind me. Good times.

Sharpstown Park in Houston. Not too far from the Bissonnet track. Paired up with a black dude once who said if he broke 90 he was going to pick him up a track star.

Fashion Golf Course in Hahnville, LA.

Turtle back greens and 2 holes shared a fairway.

It was actually not a bad course in the 70's. You had to be accurate to hit the green and keep the ball on them. Shared fairway was never a problem unless you were just god awful.

Grew up about a half mile from it and used to stop and play 9 after work regularly until it shutdown a few years ago.

Was named one of golf digest’s most dangerous courses in the world because it was 18 holes squeezed into half the land a normal course would take up. Some tee boxes had back stops like a baseball diamond to keep players from getting hit by errant shots!

Muny in Monroe ranks high on the list.

So you did not the opportunity to play Selman Field Golf Course.

Played my first 9 holes of golf there as a teen. It was late August and you could almost lose a golf ball in the cracks of the dry gumbo soil.

Heron Lakes in North Houston. That freaking dump is now closed! Played it one time, when a buddy flew into town and was staying near by. I never drink when I play, but I definitely did that round. Probably the only way I made it through 18 holes.

Was waiting for Heron Lakes to be mentioned. It was my first job and I told the course record!

Plantation Golf Course, Gretna, LA It's where I learned but it was $10 so I played it alot

This is the winner. Somehow packed 18 holes on 56 acres. Golf Digest in the 80s ranked it top 10 worst courses in America.

first prize was a car and boat...turned out to be an old beat up station wagon with a old bateau shoved through the back window...
